A great reminder when wounds or unmet needs are activated. In that moment, what we need is to soothe the wound, not to pour more salt in it. Practicing with the breath helps us come back to the present, to the body and to respond to what is in need of tenderness and compassion. It takes courage to turn towards our own suffering and to make space for our partners pain. To react, to enter the world of defensiveness and right /wrong is automatic and la la wisdom. The intention there is to wound and protect the fragile ego. This resounds us and feeds the defense. Feeding the story just intensifies the hurt and escalates the reactivity. And often we are projecting our needs, our hurts onto our partners. So the question becomes, can we love without possessing? Can we Listen without needing to agree and from the heart? Can we shift and see the vulnerability thatβs in the space between the two of us and recognize that both are wounded. Can we speak the language of the heart? This is the way of the wise heart/mind. This is mindfulness and compassion that is the foundation of interconnectedness. This is the path of growth and healing that strengthens acceptance, allows for healing, for intimacy and the blossoming of true love.πβ€οΈ#imagorelationshiptherapy #mindfulliving #mindfulcouples #compassion #mindfullistening #mindfulspeech (at Delray Beach, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKZFBnynyMA/?igshid=s1r6l634ssi3
