So I dug into it.

Remember the Satanic panic of the 1980s—court cases of daycare centers being covers for blood orgies and sacrifice and organized abuse? That turned out to be all bullshit. But what’s old is new again…

Now there’s a movement to scare local officials and parents into believing that public schools are grooming kids to be the victims of pedophiles, and its organizers are tied to people that believe things like the Holocaust was caused by gay people.

Far-right “Christian” groups are trying to stir up grassroots support for their movement with local screenings of a documentary called The Mind Polluters, sometimes in government buildings.

It’s not about protecting children. It’s about controlling public schools (or diverting their funds to pay for private, less integrated schools) and substituting harmful ineffective religious doctrine for sexual education.
