That challenge on Mateta by the Millwall keeper was horrific, and I’m sure the 25 stitches aren’t fun, but I’m glad he didn’t get hurt worse because that could have been really fucking bad. Also, shame on the Millwall fans chanting “let him die,” that’s disgusting and unsporting and, frankly, inhuman. Do better.
What a sad day for the footballing world.
