A Kalamazoo Memorial
I remember when it happenedāa young man, Kendall Stone Jackson, riding his bike down a steep hill, couldnāt stop and hit a city bus and was killed. This spot, at Millview and Burdick, in Kalamazoo, is not terribly far from where I live.
I happened to walk by todayāthree and a half years after it occurred. Iād been aware of the unselfconscious memorial for Kendall all this time, but was surprised to find, with careful observation, a more permanent fixture to mark his life. He was three weeks shy of his eighteenth birthday.
