Here's one for you, folks. A seemingly simple exercise that is ready to be mastered and further extrapolated to the drum kit. It deals with some of the most basic, and commonly under appreciated concepts of drumming - making clean unison and alternating strokes. Think about it, our limbs are always hitting together or apart. Why not make sure they are doing so cleanly? Remember to practice both slow-fast-slow and at a steady tempo using a metronome, making sure you aren't flamming. Don't forget to try using the click on off beat 16th notes (the "e's" and "ah's") to further lock into the tempo. Finally, swap a had for a foot on the drum kit.
