A DB3 and a V8 Series III Spec came into the studio this month courtesy of The Aston Man. We are commissioned to take photographs of every Aston for sale through The Aston Man and as well as the straight informative shots we are often asked to provide some artistic takes on the vehicle too. Each car has its own personality and dictates a little the style in which it wants to be photographed. This is why we like to take the time to ābeā with the vehicle for a little while and never approach two cars in the same way.Ā
Lighting is a key feature of every shoot.Ā There is always a decision to be made on the best light source for the end result we have in mind. Often we look to our extensive Profoto flash range for product shoots but for cars we usually turn to our 30k of tungsten andĀ āpaintā with the light to accentuate the lines and curves of the vehicle. Itās often hard to check an image on the small screen on the back of your camera so shooting tethered is a great way to review a shot and check that youāre happy with the result before moving on.Ā
This month saw another trampoline shoot and we couldnāt resist having a go ourselves ahead of the video shoot booked in for September.Ā
In a break from cars and trampolines we welcomed Coneyl Jay (@coneyljay) into the studio for a bridal jewellery shoot. Beautiful couture was delivered and hung up ready to dress the model. Jewellers Hockley Mint (@Hockley_Mint) provided a stunning array to be captured and Coneyl went to work ably assisted by his stylist wife, mua Queen G (@QGMakeUp) and hair stylist Miss Christina (@christinehairup). Hockley Mint went on to win Best Bridal Collection of the Year. Congratulations!
And last but not least, our annual visit to the Silverstone Classic rounded off the month nicely! We met up with lots of familiar faces including Ant Anstead trackside fresh from filming for the new series ofĀ āFor the Love of Carsā. Mikeās Muscle Cars brought along a massive American Classic and it was great to see Mike Brewer on the Discovery stage talking through some of the cars theyād had on Wheeler Dealers. Much racing and music was enjoyed and we canāt wait for next year!
