Last song: 小情歌 by Taiwanese pop band Sodagreen, and Fei Yu Qing, the god of Chinese songs in general, sang a cover of this on some show and DAMN Fei Yu Qing has still got it even tho he’s really old and should be retired already, his voice!!! But JJ Lin did a sweet/pop rendition of it that’s really nice too

Last movie: Wow I have not watched a single proper movie this year aside from The Untamed Fatal Journey - Sadly, I’m truly not a movie person and won’t 

Last show (completed): Miss S!!!

Currently reading: Ah hahahahaha ded I literally JUST finished 一剑霜寒, a new BL danmei novel that features a prince called Ji Yanran, who is also an army general/commander, that hires Yun Yifeng, the head of a Feng Yun Men sect that specializes in the trading of information in a wuxia world, to retrieve a stolen item from the palace. 

I honestly have a type I feel, because YYF doesn’t have long to live after suffering from being poisoned repeatedly by his crazy shifu since he was young, and he needs to find this rare Red Lingzhi (some type of herb/fungus) to be cured - so his body flushes extremely hot or cold sporadically, and of course he gets tired easily and keeps throwing up blood whenever he exerts too much strength, and yeah did I mention he keeps fainting into JYR’s arms?!! And immediately after seeing YYF, JYR is whipped, throughout the whole novel he makes sure he always brings a gazillion blankets and coats for YYF no matter where they go, and even before they confirm their relationship, YYF is so comfortable with JYR that he keeps letting the prince fish him out of bathtubs naked as the day he’s born and they literally just don’t talk about it, no embarrassment when he wakes up etc., it’s just natural and argh I love it!!! 

Of course there’s like a really huge conspiracy behind the whole thing, tons of politics and what not (and gosh look at me go off again) - And the best part is when JYR just abruptly, one day goes from calling him Sect Leader Yun to Yun’er, wow like intimate much?!!! And the man doesn’t even bat an eyelid, and the comedy is ridiculous because EVERYONE has to deal with these two heartless, merciless lovebirds that keep parading their love for each other when they have an audience. Plus while YYF is gorgeous, smart and everything, he has two hobbies - cooking and playing the qin, but guess what, he SUCKS SO BAD AT BOTH!! But JYR is all ‘yes baobei, you’re the best’ and so YYF keeps cooking, keeps playing, and everyone else struggles to escape from the cooking and makes sure no zither is in sight for the man to play with

And yes there’s an arc where they think he’s not going to make it, that they can’t find the Red Lingzhi and YYF is down to his last two weeks, and it’s frickin sad?!!! I bawled (spoiler: he does make it)

Other than that, I’m moving onto another novel tomorrow let’s hope I make it

Currently watching: Still catching up on Lost Romance 浪漫输给你, although I’m eyeing Xiao Yan’s (from MRIAD) new show with Xing Zhaolin

Sweet, spicy, or savoury: Sweet yes! Hahahaha, savoury of course sometimes, spicy... once in a long while, maybe only in steamboat dipping sauces

Craving: It’s 2.10am and I couldn’t resist, grabbed the chocolate mochi from my fridge

Manhua, donghua, novel, live-action, or audio drama?

I’ve only watched cql, the live-action and read the novel. I admit I prefer cql, but i appreciate i probably missed a huge amount from the novel due to reading a fan translation and missing cultural knowledge. I’ll blame it on how incredibly talented the cast and crew are, too!

Favorite character from each main sect (secondary is optional)?

i answered that here, but i will always take the chance to give a second opinion!

jiang - i’ll say jc, because the poor guy is lonely and he needs some love

lan - lan jingyi for being the most unlan lan!

nie - nmj for being the best big brother to nhs (fatal journey *sob*)

wen - wen qing the best doctor, the best sister who deserved better.

jin - jin ling, i guess, would be my second choice.

4: What do you think makes your style distinctly yours? honestly that’s what i would like to know as well XD i’ve been told my coloring looks pastel-ish? i’ve been adding more vibrancy in an attempt to bring the colors out more strongly to uhh....mixed results 

13: What is your preferred format? Moodboards, gifsets, poster sets…? gifsets! i started out with the 6-8 gifs format bc i found the smaller sizes easier to work with when i first started making cql content but have steadily transitioned to the larger sizes over the months of trial and error. once in a blue moon i’ll do a 9-gifset that superficially looks like a moodboard but usually is not XD;; 

50. Self-loving time: show us a creation you want your followers to see i started well dominated love recently so here’s the latest xuan lu appreciation set (which is surprisingly watchable!! tho i’ll be honest i am absolutely only powering thru the episodes for xuan lu lol) 

this isn’t particularly interesting but i had fun with this!

1. i’m pretty sure i’ve mentioned this before but i’m left handed. weirdly enough all of the grand kids in my family are left handed while none of our parents or grandparents are. i just think it’s funny how that turned out.

2. i love to play video games. i wasn’t really allowed to play video games growing up so now that i’m an adult i’ve literally gone nuts playing. currently addicted to apex legends and world of warcraft.

3. inuyasha is my favorite anime. im super excited for the sequel but also a little skeptical because like...who did sesshomaru have kids with??????? 

4. i’m genuinely ashamed of this but i am, in fact, a purple person. the first time i tried taro milk tea was solely because i wanted a purple drink. i just think...it’s a pretty color ok.

Hm... idk. I don’t really think there is anything. I’ll just ramble about 5 things? 

1) My family is from Sichuan/Chongqing areas. We eat SPICY food and SICHUAN PEPPERCORN! :D It’s super fun and before i could handle spice, i would still eat sichuan peppercorns straight. When I was a child i slathered a single peppercorn all over my mouth and just reveled in the weird tingly feeling for half an hour. I was a bored child and this was very entertaining. 

2) I identify probably too strongly with WWX: ENFP (or so I believe), smart but DUMB, scorpio, instinct to protect people, irreverent gremlin, dislike social niceties, cares about actual friendship a lot.  

3) i like tea. a lot. I have a bunch of nice black teas (not flavored stuff. jin junmei, 3 different yunnan black/red teas, 4 different chinese lapsong suchongs, a black tea that was processed like an oolong and allowed to fully oxidize, and some other stuff that’s escaping me. I also have less nice black teas that i drink as milk tea ), 6 white teas (fuding tea balls from 2012, vietnamese white tea that i got from a vendor in indiana, a moonlight white that i adore, a semi-wild tea from 2018, an aged white from 2005, and a white tea that i’m hoarding and trying to let age), 2 greens (”twisted green” and uh... .hm... maybe i only have one green tea right now. i should remedy that... ), 2 different grades of jasmine green (which i classify as huacha/flower teas and not actually greens), some sheng puer, some fuzhuan (from a friend), and probably over 15 different types of oolong (4-5 taiwanese high elevation from different mountains/seasons, a bunch of different yancha, some dancong, and a tgy or two). I also buy cheap grocery store lychee black tea and blend it myself with rosebuds and honeysuckle buds. it’s really yummy. oh and a darjeeling or two somewhere. i think they’re both SFTGFOP grade. lol. i like tea. 

4) i have a pickle jar. sichuan style with a lid that looks like an inverted bowl. I pickle things my parents mail me from their garden. When i put in fresh stuff to pickle, the live culture/fermentation releases gas and with enough build up, it bubbles out. i call it my pickle jar is burping. it’s really important to me for making food i like. and i love food. 

5) i live in the midwest USA and i use this word “ope”. i use it A LOT. and it’s weird to people because it’s a local thing. It basically combines oh! and oops! and eep!  into one. kinda like a startled apology. i sometimes use it like “oh well, oops. what am i gonna do?” but i think the oh and oops are always there. the tone of the oh changes though. i hope that helps any of my followers wondering what the heck “ope” means.
