It’s truly a blessing to be able to lose myself in Taylor and Ed lyrics. I am critical of myself, overly sensitive and just a train wreck in general. I am prone to crying in my car, where I have too much time to reflect. I had this one crying fit, where I stopped to sing Tear Drops on My Guitar. The one TS song I knew well at the time. And it became a little trick I learned to calm myself down. And then I poured all of my heart into learning and loving Red. And 1989 had all the heavy lifting, getting me through my mom’s cancer diagnosis. Reputation is sharing the duty of making me feel just not okay, but stronger with Divide. I just know it’s going to get me through so many tear-streaked days in my car. And of course Taylor and Ed don’t know how much I’ve put on them; how they literally bring me back from my despair spirals. It’s not fair to ask y’all to help me or save me. But I feel like that’s what you do, when you pour your hearts into your songs. I can’t wait to own too many copies of reputation, see you in Tampa.
