Traverse City Air Show
This is the first in a series of seven posts of things I saw at the air show in Traverse City, Michigan.
According to the National Cherry Festival website, this is Mike Terfehr’s MiG 17F, CT-33 Silver Star. I photographed (and posted) it last summer, but it seems the paint scheme is a little different.
The designation "MiG" comes from two Russian aircraft designers, thus Mikoyan-Gurevich (source). This high-subsonic model was used by the North Vietnamese during the war with United States. The design from 1950, but this particular plane was built in 1960. Here's a link with some info on this plane. Two images by Richard Koenig; taken June 28th 2025.
