i went to Art-Noise and my hairstylist was Shuji who has suuuper cool hair and was ultra nice! He really knew what he was doing and he made my hair look so good and I’m so happy with the cut I got. It feels so much lighter now and it’s much more manageable in this warm weather. :D
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I finally got the one dream product I’ve been lusting after for ages and I think my makeup collection is pretty damn complete now. I got it in a moment of weakness, while being egged on by my awfully enabling bff. But I don’t think for a second that I’ve ever regretted it since because it’s honestly such a gorgeous compact and the powder gives a lovely glow to my skin.
It’s also really lightly scented and I actually like the scent a lot, it makes it feel even more luxurious. This is easily the priciest piece I have in my collection, but you can be damn sure I’ll treasure it with my life!
Also, it fits perfectly in my weeb Eva case and I looove that. It’s partially because I’m paranoid about scratching the compact or damaging it in any way.... Plus I think it’s hilarious to have my expensive Guerlain compact in an old candy case. :D
A pretty neutral look with a bright lip. Just trying to get back into the hang of things... I’ve been away for a while, trying to deal with a lot of personal issues and also my skin being kind of awful. (Although this is a far older picture so it’s not as obvious here.) It’s been somewhat of a blow to my self-confidence but I’m still here and I’m still trying, I guess. I’ve got some posts queued up for a bit and I hope I can find the time to write up some tutorials again soon (:
I know my blog's been really dead lately... I'm just in the middle of trying to get my life together while dealing with some stuff. On the brighter side, I signed up for Bloglovin and you can follow my makeup blog on it too! :DÂ

[TUTORIAL] Sparkly Purple Eyes with Shimmer Adhesive!
I've been experimenting with Darling Girl Cosmetics' Glitter Glue and figuring out how to best use adhesives like this with stunning results! I love how it really enhances duochrome and sparkly eyeshadows, and sometimes it really changes how an eyeshadow looks. It works quite differently from regular eye primer and understanding that is definitely key to making GG work fabulously :DÂ
Check under the cut to learn how I did my eye makeup and make use of tacky bases like Glitter Glue!
Here's what you'll require! You don't need the exact same things, of course, just similar products that function the same. Just grab any pretty shimmery eyeshadows, preferably some duochromes so you can really make your eyes stand out!Â
I used eyeshadows and Glitter Glue from Darling Girl Cosmetics, Etude House Proof 10 eyeshadow primer, Sonia Kashuk no. 106 brush, Urban Decay Shadow brush, and the Eco Tools Sharpen & Smudge Duo brush (with the sharpen part yanked out, haha). I also used a loose and fluffy ELF eyeshadow brush to blend my shadows, but I forgot to include it in the picture above D:
Start with a clean, freshly moisturized face! Make sure you slap on some eyeshadow primer on your lids 'coz you don't want your fancy-do to start creasing through the day!
Apply simple winged liner. Try not to worry about symmetry or perfection! I like to do this before doing my eyeshadow because I don't like having really heavy and obvious eyeliner on. Additionally, you don't have to worry about possibly interfering or messing up the adhesive you'll have to apply on your eyes later!
Use your fluffy eyeshadow brush to plop some eyeshadow onto your face! I put my lightest color, My Little Pony, on the inner corner. My dark color, Nerpette, goes on the outer corner, with some Sovereign on the bottom to just gently define it and add more depth. You can fake huge anime eyes if you want to too!
Blend that shit out with your looser, fluffier brush! Think about how tired you look with nothing but dark purple eyeshadow on.
Left to right: Shiro's Alkahestry, Darling Girl Cosmetics' Sovereign, Nerpette, My Little Pony
A quick swatch pic to show why I'm flipping my titties over Glitter Glue. The top row is swatched over primer and the bottom over GG. You can really see the obvious difference in using primer, no primer, and GG! Especially in Alkahestry, this eyeshadow is so sheer on its own, which was sort of disappointing because I had thought it'd be more pigmented. But with a tacky base like GG it looks gorgeous and oh so sparkly! Okay, onward with the tutorial.
Okay, now the tough part: how to handle tacky adhesives! I couldn't really take pictures of my process so I drew a picture instead. Basically, you only need the smallest bit of GG on your finger! You just want to tap that onto your eyelid and not rub it in.Â
Apply your tacky base to the inner corner of your eye. Allow it a few seconds to dry a little and get ready for that gorgeous shimmer! Use your denser eyeshadow brush to generously pat on your lighter shadow over the Glitter Glue.
Check out how bright My Little Pony is with Glitter Glue compared to without! Layering GG and eyeshadow again over your already blended eye makeup means that you don't have to attempt to blend your eyeshadow again over a tacky base. That would most likely result in a gross disaster with adhesive peeling off and ain't nobody got time for that shit.
Apply GG again, over the outer corner, and then pat on your darker color, Nerpette! Be generous with it in the lower outer corner, and go more light-handed with it towards the edges. Just gentle little taps to bring the two colors closer together!
SMIZE. Look!!! It stands out so much more after layering GG and eyeshadow on top. Don't forget to do the other eye too, unless that's the kind of look you enjoy.
And now I take my tiny, sharper smudge brush to very very VERY lightly pick up a tiny bit of my defining color, Sovereign. Brush some off on your hand/a tissue if you picked up too much! Make sure that you've waited a few seconds for GG to fully dry. Very lightly pat on some Sovereign to where your orbital rim/crease should be. This helps to define your eye some more and also blend the edges of your second layer of GG + eyeshadow. You can also use the loose, fluffy brush to blend out the very outer edges, just to make sure everything looks smooth and "natural". Like you were just born with gorgeous purple eyelids.
You're done with your eyeshadow!! Finally!! That only took you, two, five, fifty hours???
Give yourself a huge pat on the back and lots of praise for having read all of that stuff above. And also for trying it out! :D If it didn't work out for you the first time, don't fret! Just keep practicing, it takes a bit to get used to using sticky bases like Glitter Glue. Additionally, I applied my eyeshadow according to what best suits my eye shape. You might have a different eye shape and get different results! Don't forget that makeup is a fun activity, don't be afraid to experiment a little and change up the steps to best suit your eye shape or makeup routine (:
You could also take the chance now to take fifty selfies and then marvel at how duochrome eyeshadows look from different angles!
Now smack the rest of your warpaint on! I've completed this look with Darling Girl's Inner Glow blush in Fantasia and NYX matte lipstick in Bloody Mary. Purple tones go wonderfully with orange, coral shades, and also reds that are just slightly pinkish! And I'm in love with this blush, I can't wait for my birthday haul from DGC comes in so I can try out more of their gorgeous blushes!!
Put on your glasses (or don't) and think about how wonderful and amazing and diverse makeup is!!
Feel blessed to be alive in this colorful world. And there you go, that's the whole tutorial and the look I made with it.
Thanks a ton for reading it! I hope this was helpful for someone at least and that you'll enjoy trying it out! Please send/link me to your pictures if you do try it out, I'd love to see other people's pretty makeup looks too! My askbox is always open if anyone has questions and I love discussing makeup so yeah! Suggestions for how to improve my tutorials/looks or just ideas for future tutorials are totally welcome too :D Thanks so much for taking the time to look at this!
