To Breathe Free June 2020 I am proud of what was accomplished this year against the odds, but I am most proud of this piece. To Breathe Free was one of the graphics for Syzygy's fundraiser this summer in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. We raised $2000 internally to create a donation matching program to Campaign Zero and Critical Resistance. The local ABC7 News station also featured this in their spotlight "Artists in Action." It was inspiring seeing all these creatives calling out issues in our society, and envisioning something better.
I will be holding onto these two lessons in the new year:
We can all use our talents to work toward a better world.
We cannot do it alone. It takes a community of people uplifting each other to enact change.
