Tomorrow (9/11) is my Birthday! So I drew a totally professional and accurate self portrait of how I will be on that day. 26! AND ALREADY HAVING A MID LIFE CRISIS, WHOO! ∩( • ▽ • )∩
My First Attempt
I’m not going to promise myself, even less others that I’ll keep this blogging thing going, but I really do want to make it a habit to write EVERYTHING. Well you see at this point in my life I’m really struggling to find who I really want to be for the next years. My profession mostly -- even though Marianne says that the root of all my problems right now is that I’m having a Mid-Mid Life Crisis and I‘ll soon brush myself out of it. I didn’t believe that this so called mid-mid life crises was a real thing, so I looked it up, and there it was (on the urban dictionary of all places) and this is what it defined it as;
A series of life-changing events that occur around 25 to 30 years of age - half-way to a normal, mid life crisis. Usually denoted by a realization of how screwed up your parents were and how screwed up the world really is. Usually followed by marriage, divorce, spiritual reawakening, anti-depressants, children, jail or, a combination.
Okay wait a MINUTE! I mean marriage is fine, but divorce, spiritual reawakening, anti-depressants, children, jail or, a combination? This isn’t good -- I have to get everything together, and get out of this mid-mid life crisis before I combine all those things in a tight bundle, and include alcoholism in there just for kicks. All kidding aside I really do think that all of this has a greater purpose, I really do think that God wants me to figure something out, something that’s bigger than anything else I’ve done in my so-far lackluster life. Here’s the good news, I will start writing almost everyday, and I’ll eventually read it back in a couple of years, and see if Urban Dictionary Nostradamus was right, or if I actually found a career, got married, traveled the world, and found out what God wanted for me after all.
Only time will tell, but for now this is my first attempt…
