I'll start off by saying you are absolutely allowed to ship these two together if it makes you happy, more power to you if you see something in this ship that really resonates with you, and you take that and run with it you funky lil fella. Now, with that said, I really don't care for ships that start off with both characters fighting, not even het ships. I like seeing relationships develop from the initial "I don't like you" start into "I couldn't possibly be/work with anyone else but you" (Newt/Hermann from Pacific Rim are bickering science husbands and I love them), but if I don't see that character development actually take place, then I only see two characters who don't like being around each other, and I do not vibe with that.

Yes I ship them too 😭💔 I headcanon that she actually did have a crush on him like he had a crush on her, but after losing him she just never felt the same way about any other man and began to favor wlw relationships.
