Series. Film are to short however entertaining. Also, you are not forced to watch all of one series in a go (though it often happens), whereas to it is problematic only watching half of a film.

That depends highly in what kind of animal and gender of said animal.
You expect me to choose only one? Well... All that isn't fandom related.
The only important aspect of a date is chemistry. Should I connect with the person whom I am on a date with, I do not care much for where we are going, or what we are doing. Take me to see a film that you would like to see, so that I would know whether our tastes in that matter are compatible. Same for food. Points for sushi.
