Meg chews on her lower lip, barely holding herself back from drawing blood. If she does, they'll have to leave the party earlier than she wants. Michael knows the smell of her blood better than anyone else's. He says it's sweet the way nightshade berries are right before they stop a person's heart.

Turning her had been an accident, but neither of them regret it. She had invited him in, listened to him slaughter her whole family, then looked him right in the eye as he came for her. There had been so much blood dripping down his chin and neck. His kiss tasted more like her brothers and sisters than it had his own mouth.

Meg is awful in a rather poetic sense. She inspires terror and fury, lighting the world around her with misery and fire. All parts of her fill him with awe. When he tells her this she laughs and rolls her eyes, but he can see a genuine smile curling her lips. He knows her, knows the depth of pain she has endured and the heights she can inflict.

Michael also knows how Meg can manipulate his vessel and show him pleasure. Her hands frame his face as he fucks her, wings flared wide and trembling. She mutters something derogatory and yanks on his feathers, telling him to go faster and faster and harder, c'mon you won't fucking break me until he feels fire consume the inside of his skin, burning everything out so nothing is left that she has not touched.
