Michael sat with his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. This couldn’t be happening. Not to them. Not to him. He would lose his job. Zoey would get expelled. What a fucking disaster.

Glancing up at Zoey, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. He kissed her stomach lightly before resting his head against her. “It’ll be okay. We’ll be fine. We’ll make it through this together.”
