I had to exorcise this from my brain.
At the beginning of the movie, Michael meets the grim reaper :
Michael Bosko has a meeting with Vincent, Michael Cerrito has a meeting with Waingro.
(Nearly 2 hours later, both Michael meet the same fate.)
Both Neil and Vincent have a Michael in their crew. These Michaels have the same fate - they're both killed during the bank shoot out.
(Vincent is there in their last moment, for both of them.)

Michael Cheritto trips and falls into a shallow pool as he tries to escape from the botched bank job.
This mishap then creates the timing for Vincent to aim and kill him.
Neil & his crew are introduced in the first heist. (Neil and Chris have one appearance before but as a crew, they are introduced in the heist.) Here are each's first shot:
Michael, Trejo and Chris all have warm colors and greeneries (trees) visible in their shots. Neil, by contrast, is all concrete, steel and white sky, grey and blue.
Neil's first shot happens right after Michael and Waingro's introduction, in which we see them drive by a whole lot of trees:
So the contrast is especially sharp.
Also, Chris and Neil are in the same car but they are clearly separated in their shots. The shots are individual introduction and that's also why I think they need to be looked at individually and for what they say about each character.
What each shot parallels, is the fact that in the crew, Michael, Trejo and Chris all have loved ones. Neil is the only one following the 30-seconds credo and living truly alone.
