oh i definitely think he has gaslighted her in some capacity

i havent been able to read runaway max yet so im a little behind on some info, but s2 canon itself has shown just how far he can go to hurt and threaten her, whether physically or emotionally or even just his general presence

heck, the car scene in s2 has hints of him gaslighting her, tho i dont think its obvious (or i could have read it wrong since i suck at picking up social cues and hints sometimes sksksk but i try my best lol)

i would honestly not be surprised if he's (maybe along with neil sometimes too tbh) made alot more comments similar to what you mentioned, and having six years of that? it would definitely affect how she views herself and those around her and just…it would really explain so much…
