Miaows
Little squeaky ones; those accompanied by a scuttling and a thud in the night; that indicate a desire to get in, or out; those that would be all very well if you owned a cat but under the circumstances are disturbing; surprised ones; those that are a request for food; those issuing from a counterfeit cat; silent ones; those that are a sign of incoming dribble; rumbling miaow-purrs; territory-war miaows; the ultrasonic kitten-mew; slinky nuzzling ones; you stepped on my tail; the transliterated mews of other languages; wind-blown ghost-miaows; ones that have a dance attached; those emitted for mystery reasons, or involving temporarily-significant locations; on the occasion of there being a hamster in the airing-cupboard; concerning the matter of the intimiating jump that is needed to get back down; on receipt of a dropped sausage.
