After his encounter with Seven, and a few others at Mo’s new residence, Sawyer’s not been sleeping well. He never sleeps well; but particularly now, he has this crawling feeling beneath his skin that he had only facilitated the atrocities. They’d all been pitted against each other at times, but Sawyer had been in their memories. He had touched their scars and made their memories his own -- or at least, made them what the Essex House dictated they ought to be.
Even if he was forced into it, he still feels he owes an apology to every person he participated in the harming of. Milo was one of the easier ones to find, at the Xavier Institute. The whole place is sort of awe inspiring, to the point of being intimidating -- so he’s fucking relieved when he’s told Milo is out in the grounds.
Sawyer’s kind of loathe to disturb him, now he’s here. He’s never seen Milo look relaxed like this before, the sun warm on his skin. Alright, maybe he doesn’t look relaxed compared to normal people. But as Essex residents go? Looks like he’s doing alright. With a quick inhale, Sawyer adopts the sarcastic brightness behind which he so often hides. “Milo Burke, as I live ‘n breathe. Long time no see.” Fuck... he really still looks like a kid. There’s such a vulnerability around him. @mi-burke
