I have frequent anxiety attacks, and after a bit I decided to tell my mom, but I don't think she understands what it means because in italian the word -ansia- doesn't look as serious as in english, and she doesn't even speak english, I don't know what to do. And I don't honestly feel like talking about it with my father either. Also I feel like they would just send me to a psychologist -is it the right word?- and I used to go to one of them, I've also met a lot of them and I don't like it.
Iâm sorry to hear that you feel like your parents donât take yourserious but I do take you serous. Â Isthere someone ells who you can talk too, or feel safe to talk too? Maybe a goodfriend or a nice neighbor, or maybe even a teacher at school or your boss atwork.
Itâs important that you fully trust theperson you want to talk too, so that there donât tell other people if you donâtwant that. Â It is important to talk tosomeone, because that can make your anxiety less. When you share your problemsit can make them less. If talking to a person you trust does not help, maybe you should try totalk to your mother again. Tell her your serious about your anxiety, but you donâtwant to be send to a psychologist. Because as you said you donât like to go there. You said that you donât feel like talking to your father, but how does thatcome so. It is normal that you have a stronger connection with you mother thenyour father, I for example have that too. If you donât feel like talking to youfather, then you should not do that, only when you feel safe to. If you have an anxiety attack you can try to prevent them, or to stop them.
