I stumbled across the village of Mézin when I made contact with a member of their Bridge Club. Not far from Nerac, Mezin sits on the far South West of Lot et Garonne, almost kissing the Gers, and is part of Gascony territory. The central square is dominated by the Church of Saint John the Baptist, a fortified church built in the roman style from the 11th to the 14th century. Mezin is also home to the Musee du Liege et du Bouchon, and in times gone by, Mezin produced 4-5 million corks each week, and the museum is dedicated to the cork making industry. Sadly I had very little time to explore this unspoilt village, but hope to revisit soon. The Local Buzz magazine can be collected from many villages and towns like Mezin, or can be read online, or delivered direct to your front door when you subscribe. www.thelocalbuzzmag.com #gascony #mezin #lotetgaronne #aquitaine #nouvelleaquitaine #medieval #romanesque #armagnac https://www.instagram.com/p/B4-ClEdqXfk/?igshid=15424a3qqcr0m
