Maya Kern May - Day 2
Day 2 of my quest to wear all my Maya Kern skirts in the month of May. Whenever I don't have a particular outfit in mind, I'm rolling a d27 to pick something and rolled into this lovely midi in the Sparrows print by Meyoco.
This print is definitely more winter, what with the snow and everything, so I wanted to show how'd I wear it during the colder months. Free fashion advice: get a cape. Every outfit is better with a cape (when you won't die of heat exhaustion while wearing it). But I was also sweating my butt off just taking pictures, so I tried to dress it down for spring. Think I did okay.
I managed to snag a @mayakern x Meyoco sparrow skirt for my spouse! Tatsu's special interest is birds but we missed out on preorders last year so I am very happy we could get the last one in this size ;v;
I replaced the gathered waist with a satin elastic waistband to tweak the sizing and the color balance.
I used foldover elastic so it would fully encase the skirt fabric on both sides. Waistband and skirt were pin-eased together and straight-stitched while stretching the material as it was fed through the machine. Wooly nylon was used for both bobbin and top thread as extra insurance against future thread breakage.

My Art Book Collection<3
I added a new art book (far left) to my collection yesterday and I’m so excited to study from it. I was sitting kicking my feet as I was flipping through it.
As an artist, I am obsessed with collecting art books so that I can physically look at and analyze other artist’s style. I think I’ve got six total, and I’m hoping to get the rest of Sakizo’s art books and the arcane art book soon!
