With the new outfits, they only use them during their own set. They use the old ones when taking pictures or performing on other artists sets (Electric Callboy, Bring Me The Horizon)

So with the whole “METALVERSE” theming, I think when they’re traveling through the METALVERSE, they appear differently than in their own universe. Hence the costume changes.

The METALVERSE is most likely used to refer to the general metal scene, like a universe of different metal artists.

Reminds me of how at Babymetal Returns and Begins, Metalverse’s (group) guest appearances during “KARATE” and “Doki Doki ☆ Morning” were wearing black and red. However, you see the inverse of that at their debut show, the same outfits, but turquoise and black.

And with BABYMETAL’s old outfits being colorful with some black details, and their new ones being black and gold with some rainbow motifs, this could be similar case.

Even if this theory does seem true (which it probably isn’t and I just felt the need to share this)

I have no idea why they would wait to explore this until the EU festival tour. Seems like an interesting choice.
