I saw a trailer for this new Disney/Pixar movie before The Rise of Skywalker this weekend. One of the main characters has a battle jacket, which includes fictitious bands like “Hades.” I don’t know how I feel about this. Are metal vests now a pop culture thing? Just a joke for cartoons? I don’t want people to think I’m dressed up for a Disney convention just because I am wearing my vest on the way to a show.
On the plus side, I guess I already have next year’s Halloween costume covered.
I know there are true Metallica fans no matter what but to me Metallica is the most overrated heavy metal band ever and it seems to me by popularity they also have the biggest poser fan base in heavy metal or rock genres. I have seen so many trendy famous people wear their shirts.
I’ve always felt that way, never really liked them. Music is underwhelming and you can buy their merchandise everywhere. You definitely see a lot of people wearing Metallica/Iron Maiden/Led Zeppelin shirts as a fashion statement. It’s pretty damn annoying imo, I’ll never understand why people wear things they know nothing of. But then again even in the metal scene you get a lot of people wearing the band shirts/merch for the “metal” look, knowing damn well they don’t even own any of the music or even listen to it. “Oh look it’s a cool Batlord shirt”
