Meta 2|| Wally's ADHD and his Speed
As we all know Wally is high energy and loves his speed and depending on the situation may have a very hard time keeping focus on things. We see this through his body language throughout Young Justice that he has a hard time keeping focus on things and that to remain focused on it he must have high interest in the subject.
This brings me to believe Wally has ADHD and that makes his super speed the absolute best super power for him. This meta will focus on the two main previously stated points.
1. His body language and stimming
Wally is often times portrayed as having a hard time staying still. Often times bouncing at least his knee and sometimes tapping his pencil while at his desk at school. He seems to have a lack of interest in school, potentially indicating a lack of challenging material that is being presented to him. To compensate for this lack of stimulation his body does things to help him compensate.
He has areas of interest that help him focus heavily. These are usually regulated to things he is passionate about (not things regularly focused on in public high schools), his friends, and of course of his superhero life. As we see in season 2 he often times is finishing assignments at the last minute
His powers allow him to multitask and think quickly as well as gives him the energy to switch tasks when a new one pops up. This helps him feel closer to fulfilled at the end of the day.
2. Remaining focused
Throughout the course of the series as previously mentioned Wally has a hard time keeping focus on tasks at hand. This usually goes to school, but can also go to other things. He often times forgets Valentine's day and has very little focus on it. This is likely because Valentine's day is not an interest to him or as important to him as it is too others.
He also tends to forget that certain foods are gathered for certain events. This can he a part of his ADHD and a combination of his powers surfacing and his need for high calories to keep the old tank running.
His powers are a perfect match for the lack of focus before can be made up for here as his focus must go to all of his additional abilities and powers.
