Sugarbunnies Line messaging stickers🌼
(Artist unknown)
The U.S. National Security Council has reportedly discussed prohibiting encrypted messaging technologies that prevent law enforcement from accessing content when required for security reasons—a red line that must not be crossed in the view of many users and providers.
End-to-end encrypted messaging is a major issue for law enforcement—as the world shifts from easy to crack (for governments) cellular SMS messaging to various flavors of IP messaging, such as WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal and Wickr, governments are exploring their options. The challenge is that such services are provided by technology companies, mostly based in the U.S., making them to a large extent out of reach from lawmakers elsewhere. The messaging services run “over the top,” meaning they are not tied directly to the provider of the network or the phone.
THIS. IS. CONCERNING.
okay, wow, Telegram is beautiful, it's like I've gotten access to whatsapp while maintaining online privacy.
One-Read Messages on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is working on a new feature for iPhone that would let users send text messages that can only be viewed once. The idea is similar to the app’s existing view-once option for photos, videos, and voice messages. After the recipient opens the message and reads it, it disappears.
The feature is still in development, but early reports suggest users will be able to activate it by long-pressing the send button and choosing a special “send as view once” option. Recipients won't be able to copy, forward, or share the message after viewing it. WhatsApp is also expected to block screenshots and screen recordings for these messages.
The option is being designed for both private chats and group conversations, though it is not expected to come to channels. The feature appears aimed at people who occasionally share sensitive information and want fewer permanent records left behind in chat histories.
Final Note:
Messaging apps keep finding new ways to make conversations feel less permanent. Whether people use this for privacy or just to send dramatically mysterious one-line messages remains to be seen.

does anyone have suggestions for which android chat app to use if you're trying not to let Google in more
needs to function as a basic text messaging, Samsung Messages is being retired in a bit and frankly the articles on the topic have not helped
What is a good alternative to Samsung messages? I really do not want to use Google messages but I also honestly don't know a lot about messaging apps so I don't know what works like universally. Like what I can use to text anyone regardless of if they're using the same app as me. Help?
