The things you hope for the most are the things that destroy you in the end.

A quote that becomes increasingly true as Keita ventured down his territory at Nagoya. In this now altered world, people warped and represented their talents and power with territory.

Hibiki Kuze as the warden of Tokyo. He who maintained Tokyo while having a good relationship with the people there.

Yamato Hotsuin as the former warden of Osaka. He who was stricken down by the collective power of the people there. Leaving the people of Osaka free of control. And setting a revolution within Japan.

Keita Wakui as the warden of Nagoya. He who ruled under an iron fist and followed the way of his ancestors: by executing those who were guilty even in the smallest things. And those who were weak and unable to defend themselves.

Makoto Sako, the warden of Beppu and Fumi Kanno, the warden of Hokkaido.

Each warden are responsible for the country's resources.

At Nagoya, it is illegal to not be a member that contributes to society. Children as young as 5 are sent to training camps, to prepare them to be part of society. Beggars and the unemployed have 1 day to find a job or be executed.

All this under the reason of saving as much resources as possible.

Leaving the people of Nagoya severely oppressed and extremely afraid of joining Osaka's movement on overthrowing Nagoya's leader.

How does those three, once insignificant teenagers become leaders of three of Japan's most prominent states? Well, the answers are simple.

Man have been warped and lost their will to advance. Instead, that will is replaced with the will to compete against one another.

Man are now bent on their will on to be the strongest. And what other way to prove you are the strongest with the demons summoned through the still active Nicaea Summoning App? Yes, the dead face delivery site is down, but the summoning app is still around.

With all the competition and their will to be the strongest, man are separated and unable to be whole. Agriculture slowly declines and eventually resources declines at an alarming rate.

Without resources, buildings becomes landscape of disarray, with dead bodies, mostly caused by starvation, scattered everywhere. Keita looked around at his observation tower.

This is not what he had hoped for when he first stepped into the world of Meritocracy. With that, he called Hibiki.

"How's Tokyo going?" Keita asked as the call got through. "It seemed Polaris did not keep to his words as many people are beginning to return to normal. They are rebelling us, Hibiki, like they did with Yamato."

♦: Relationship with your Muse.

((Naoya likes to worm his way into my speech patterns and demeanor. I have legit strolled to class with a half-disinterested look on my face as I observed passerby, stopping occasionally to observe foliage. As for our dynamic as separate individuals, I converse with him on occasion, sometimes to ask his opinion on topics. This sometimes springs into a debate between us. I also enjoy forcing him into some of the roles I am placed in. (hence alphabet-teaching naou-chan ouo)))

♠: What’s one thing you dislike about your Muse?

((His tendency to hurt himself, constantly blaming himself for everything that goes wrong in Abel’s lives. While it’s true he has been the cause on occasion, he needs to stop holding himself back out of fear. It’s so sweet, but it breaks my heart.))

♥: One thing you love about your Muse.

((Many, many things… But I’ll just name one. I love that, even though he dates back to the dawn of man, he sees the benefit of evolving with the ages. Taking up programming, modifying his archaic speech as he switches countries, growing, learning from each incarnation. He has been so far, observed so many types of people, and he has adapted.))

☾: Favorite moment from your muse’s canon and why.

((Amane’s route on the eighth day, Naoya goes through a good bit of character development. At the very end, on the final boss battle with Okuninushi, despite his grievances with Kazuya’s choice, he comes to his brother’s aid. This was the moment when I was playing the game that I really realized how much Cain cared for Abel, even if his opportunity to use the boy as a pawn had passed. He still wants to kill God, yes, but it is possible to persuade him, though it’s a difficult task. He is like ice, after all. (Incidentally, the line where Okuninushi says something along the lines of “a single drop of water has been found in the ice” was the inspiration for “A Cleft in the Ice“‘s title.)))

☄: What do you think of your muse?

((He is a precious baby, no matter how psychotic me may become at times. I love how complex his character is, how deeply you can dig into his way of thinking. He is reasonable, but his own point of view is deeply ingrained in his being. I love his occasional tender moment, that slight difference in his expression at some of Abel’s actions.))

●: If you could say just one thing to your muse, what would it be?

((Get out of my head and stop ruining my life.

"I wonder where he's going? He's supposed to be heading this way."

With ever watchful eyes, Pharos notices that the boy in question is walking a different way.

Quite literally, the boy is walking away from his fate. He tilts his head, looks off into the direction of the night in which that boy has ran off to. What could possibly be keeping him at this hour?

Pharos hums, decides to start moving in that same direction. If he isn't going to come to his fate, then his fate might as well be coming to him, right?

It's not very hard to chase down this boy, clad in his seemingly-glowing white sweatshirt in the middle of the night; Pharos easily catches up to him, and just as sees the boy stop in his tracks, he approaches him quietly.

When he's close enough, he speaks up.
