Some panel sketches of a comic I have cooking. I promise I’ll have rendered stuff soon
WIP (manifesting that ill actually color this)
My Helluva Boss OCs, Dax, Tripp, and their sinful demon princess Merihem of the Vainglory ring. Merihem is based on a bat & manta ray hybrid! I wanted something that flies, but maybe looked somewhat elegant even though it was still monstrous and demonic. Her unleashed form is much more bat-monster like, rivalling that of dragons. Vainglory Imps are born with larger, fancier horns, wings, and are more likely to have symmetrical or artistically abstract birth marks (white & black markings). They're descended from Lust Imps (regular imps who bred with Succubi, putting wings in the gene pool) and are obsessed with decorating themselves in any way possible, as their home ring entails. Vainglory is a major shopping district, selling cosmetics to it's inhabitants. Personal imps that belong to Merihem herself are decorated in gold jewelry, whereas typical imps will get silver or black cosmetic trinkets. It's not uncommon to see imps with strange white patterns-- some of these can be due to genetics, but many imps also get tattooed in Merihem's Bar & Lounge. Tattoos range from regular black ink to pure cutting and branding. Oh But What Is The Difference Between VG and Plain Old... Pride??
Vainglory : Excessive vanity, ostentatious display
Pride : Inordinate self esteem, unreasonable conceit of one's own superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, rank, etc.
"... Pride is about position and power, and Vainglory is about attention and acknowledgement."
"Vainglory is a characteristic that comes from the heart as desire while Pride is an attitude that comes from the mind as a way of thinking or mindset."
"... Vainglory is focused on impressing others and seeking the approval of others, while Pride is focused on one's own self-esteem and trying to be better than others." Hopefully that's enough random quotes I found on the internet comparing the two. They really are different.

Merihem — Incendiary Darkness (I, Voidhanger)
Incendiary Darkness by MERIHEM
Merihem plays a snaking, sinister form of progressive black metal, replete with some seriously high-brow ambitions. Check out their band name, which references a malign spirit from the arcana of demonology and also alludes to Poe’s “Masque of the Red Death.” That’s a potent combination in these days of COVID and Q, but so far as this reviewer can tell, Merihem is principally interested in dark magic and conspiring with the imperial side of the spiritual war; contemporary politics and pestilences are side issues, at most. The band laces its lyrics with dread, foul phrases from mystic and kabbalistic sources (“Yeser ha-ra / Prevail!” and “Hod — Tiphareth — Netzach” — hope singing along doesn’t have the byproduct of conjuring something baneful and brutal into one’s living room…). Conceptually, it’s pretty tough sledding for the uninitiated, and if you’ve already mastered that language, you should likely be spending less time reading about contemporary heavy music and more time cultivating immortal souls for unpleasant fates. Every endeavor can use a soundtrack, it seems.
i made a background character but i got attached to him. hes made of soot
ben thinks he runs a toddler fight club
There was a pause when Rem, seeming to tower over everything else around them, saw his beloved. Seeming to watch Cia closely for a few moments before plant and wood begins to cage her in. Not meaning to do harm, but instead forming a barrier around her to keep her safe from the destruction happening around them. His way of showing that even in his rage, he knew who she was. Wanted her safe just as much as he wanted to find whatever it was that had caused his shift in the first place.

Acedia’s voice was rarely ever a loud thing, even when she wanted to be. Hurt her throat too much. Too used to speaking softly. But her beloved’s name tore from it in volumes she had hoped would be enough—single pleas for him to stop.
It wasn’t enough. He didn’t stop. Instead he entrapped her.
It was to protect her, she could sense that. Even before the debris broke apart against the barrier he had shaped, there was almost a lovingness she could feel in the way wood had risen around her.
It wasn’t what she’d wanted, but it was enough to let her know that this Merihem—a form she’d only ever been shown in images projected in her mind—was still her Merihem.
The blackness of her sclera bled out from her now wide eyes, seeming to pour down her cheeks like dark tears. Her horns, which always laid flat against her head, rose inches above her head until they were poking out through gaps the between plant and wood.
“Rem…”
“Rem. Enough. Stop this!”
