When you realize you have been damage boosting the whole time when you meant to heal
Artist unknown but is pretty rad
Dear Mercy players:
Greetings! I play support often too. It feels nice to keep your teammates in the fight and to not feel the pressure of needing to get kills so much.
But...
There are more healers in this game. Some of them might even be more useful than Mercy sometimes.
Shocker I know. See that youâve gotten Ilios? Lijiang Tower?Â
Just wanna point out something here, and itâs important:
LUCIO IS ALL BUT MANDATORY ON CONTROL MAPS. MAN-DA-TORY. The reasons should be obvious, but time and again I see those rare support players in QP show up...and pick NOT Lucio on KOTH maps.
Hey, winning isnât everything. True. But it sure feels nice.
But hey, maybe you just really like Mercy. I get that,we all have heroes we âclickâ with. Some of them donât seem to gel with us either.
I try to play Roadhog or Mei and my brain just evacuates and heads into a tropical wonderland.
But I digress, lemme BREAK IT DOWN.
I see you there, posting your Mercy Main Woes. Your amusing hazing of the Tanks and DPS players, for their failure to protect you. Your babysitting comparisons are relatable and understandable. You see yourself as the caretaker of the group, the frustrated and unappreciated mother figure.
But hey. Hey.
Hey.
Mercy âmainsâ? (Maining one hero is kinda unhelpful btw).
You can be bad. At Mercy. At healing. At keeping yourself out of trouble.
YEP. THATâS RIGHT FOLKS. RESPONSIBILITY GOES BOTH WAYS.
DPS players canât meaningfully kill folks and take objectives without taking damage themselves AND babysit you all the time.Â
Tank players canât sit on their asses holding shields or bodyblock shots waiting for you to get your shit together. They have to fight too.
Listen, I know that support can be a draining job. That Winston who literally got scratched (like, 30 damage at best) spamming NEED HEALING? Yeah, theyâre a jackass. Your team all running around being âsmartâ because they all wanna flank and leave the team with no frontline presence? Hard times.
But please, learn to get over yourselves a little. I know itâs all fun and a joke, but if you really wanna lessen the frustration a little, learn to look at your own play too.
TL;DR- GIT BETTER. LEARN TO PROTECT YOURSELF IF THEY CANâT/WONâT PROTECT YOU.
