New Beginning

Yes, you read that right. I am starting a blog. Most people start blogs as ways to fill up their free time, but, in my current circumstance, there isn’t much free time to spare. In contrast to others, I have created this blog in order to serve as a resource to its readers and consumers. I also figured that the best way to communicate, for me, would be through written media. This blog has the sole purpose to give value to its readers, give back for spending time on this website. I mean, what is the internet for anyways?

Now, I may not be an expert in all fields of blogging and news, but I feel as if I can cover some important areas with efficient and respective knowledge. Then, you ask, who says that you should believe me? Nobody. I can say all I want on this blog, I have the rights (unless Google denies me) but it is up to you, the reader, to act upon or research my information and opinions.

With regards to the area of coverage of this blog, I’ll focus on the areas that I have expertise in or an opinion I want to write about. It is foolhardy and a waste of time to pay attention to areas that are not your strengths. One of my favourite mentors, Gary Vaynerchuk (Instagram: @garyvee), says this all the time, focus on your strengths and steer away from your weaknesses.

My strength lies in finance, real estate, market speculation, ice hockey and basketball. Now you can say that you can find professionals that would give you more accurate information on some of these things, but how many of these “professionals” are under 20 years old and write an up close and personal blog about their findings and research? And then how many of them offer instant feedback or discussion with the author himself?

What would a proper introduction blog post be without an introduction of the blogger? I’m Mark Epshtein and I work under “MEProductions”. I currently go to school at the Sauder School of Business and UBC’s Vancouver campus. I play Junior hockey outside of school and other than that I invest and research. I also read a lot of books about finance, wealth and money management.

UBC’s Sauder School of Business is one of the top ranked business schools in Canada, UBC is ranked in the top 40 of public universities worldwide.

MEProductions originated as a YouTube channel back in 2015 when I was in Grade 10 at my high school. At first, I produced some entertaining videos with my friends and even made a movie for my school project. This year MEProductions YouTube will be shifting towards more broader content and videos. This will include product/video/media reviews and updates on news, sports and finance, as well as short book summaries and ice hockey videos. MEProductions Facebook will again be passing along all information posted on both the YouTube and the blog as well as some additional exclusive information and posts. Both MEProductions Instagram and MEProductions Store will be launched within the next year. MEProductions Instagram will be posting more visual and video related content. MEProductions Store will be selling tons of merchandise as well as other exclusive products for a cheap price that will be shipped right to your door. Both links to these pages will be posted to the blog.

As for the title of this first post on MEProductions Blog, New Beginning, which addresses a new start. A new start for a personal brand and a new start to provide value and information to its consumers and readers. For most people, new beginnings do not come often, but when they do they provide a great opportunity, that is, if you choose to act on it. I know that many of you will be going back to school, college and university, while others will be wrapping up their summer vacation and heading back to work. All these present themselves as new beginnings. Will you be a different person when you go back to school? How will you do at a university in a new city away from your family? What will you tell your coworkers that you did this summer? The beginning is now. The opportunity is now.
