on everyoneās soul we goon to mephone7+
why do all the MePhones after 4S have no mouths?
i remember i saw a comic thing where cobs does it because 4s also wants food and he decided to stop giving them mouths lmao
This is actually a very interesting question! To answer it, letās first establish the order in which the Meeple product came out, to our knowledge
MePhone3GS
MePhone4
MePhone4S/MePad (itās unclear which came first)
MePhone5
MePhone5S - MePhone5C
MePhone6
MePhone6+
MePhone7
MePhone7+
Unknown MePhone (most likely MePhoneX)
Now itās important that we remember what makes MePhone4 so special: his advanced emotion regulator.
Itās been confirmed that MePhone4 has the most powerful emotion regulator, and every other MePhone has the capacity for less and less emotion. So in a way we can consider MePhone4 the most āhumanā of the Meeple products.
This slow decline in emotional capability is evident through the behavior of all the Meeple products.
With MePhone4, MePhone4S and MePad (see: Why Does MePad Lie) all being very emotional. While 5, 5S and 5C donāt show as much emotion, though they are still capable of it (possibly even more than we know. Considering none of them got much screen time).
6 and 6+ donāt seem completely lifeless. But they donāt seem to possess as much free thought as their earlier siblings.
By the time we see 7 and 7+, the current Meeple products seem to be relatively void of free will. They live and die to serve their purpose. While we donāt have much info on MePhoneX, we can assume they most likely donāt have much free will, if any at all.
Over time the Meeple products have gotten less and less human. This is symbolized not only through their actions, but through their appearance.
Think of MePhone5 in comparison to 4 and 4S. Heās supposed to appear more technologically advanced. More dangerous. Less fragile. He has more robotic features. He turns into weapons instead of just holding them. Heās less human than 4 and 4S
(Note Iām using the term āhumanā loosely as technically theyāre all objects)
This pattern continues as MePad has no mouth, but he still has eyes. Heās more technological than MePhone4 but heās still very lively and clearly capable of free will.
5, 5S and 5C have no mouth, and their eyes are either covered or non existent. Their glasses give a slight illusion of humanity, but they donāt have nearly as much free will as MePhone4. And by the time we see 7 and 7+, they have no eyes. Their screens barely resemble a face. This reflects the fact that they themselves barley resemble living beings.
MePhoneX is by far the best example of this, as they donāt resemble a living being at all. Thereās no features on their screen that could appear to be a face. Their limbs are thick and robotic unlike the thin and flexible limbs of the living objects, along with the previous Meeple products. There is no humanity left in MePhoneX, and their appearance reflects that.
Hope this helps clear things up!
Meeple Week day 4! I fell asleep instead of posting this on time oops.
Why do all the mephones have different powers?
This is a pretty easy one to answer! Itās because they all have a different purpose.
MePhone4 (the MePhone we know best) has the ability to create things at will because he was made to create. Steve Cobs built MePhone4 so that he could have easy assess to a spaceship (and from all the ātasksā we see MePhone has, we can assume he was meant to make more that just that).
MePhone4S has more violent abilities (and weapons) because his main directive was to eliminate MePhone4 and take over the show. Which we now know is because Steve Cobs uses Inanimate Insanity for product placement, and didnāt want an older MePhone on TV. MePhone4S also had things like Siri and The Talking Hand, which were most likely there to help him host the show after MePhone4 was eliminated.
MePhone5 also had the ability to track and kill any pervious MePhones because he and 4S were meant to serve the same purpose. Kill the last MePhone and take over the show.
From that point we see these powers get more advanced with every MePhone. When MePhone4 survives MePhone5ās attack because he had 4S, Steve builds MePhone5S and MePhone5C. Two MePhones meant to work together to take down MePhone4. They were deadly, but still charismatic enough to effectively host the show if they succeeded.
As the MePhoneās go on, they get deadlier, but also weaker. So that if one eventually manages to take down MePhone4, it wonāt be as difficult to replace them. We see this in 6 and 6+ who are able to be killed with just a touch, and we see this in action with 7 and 7+, who are killed and replaced easily in Inanimate Insanity Infinity.
The only Meeple products that we donāt have a solid idea on the purpose of their abilities is MePhoneX, A.D.A.M., and MePad.
As far as we know, A.D.A.M. doesnāt have any real powers because heās just the shows producer. Though we donāt know that for sure. MePhoneX, while seemingly very dangerous, has only appeared in one scene, and therefore we donāt know exactly what his purpose is yet. But itās safe to assume that he was built with the intention of tracking and killing MePhone4, like many of the other MePhones.
MePad is the most difficult one, because we donāt actually know what he was built for (though I certainly have a theory that I think is pretty solid). So I canāt really answer why he has his powers with 100% certainty.
Knowing what they were made to do also allows us to figure out what they Werenāt meant to do. As MePhone4 doesnāt have any dangerous powers (and is often quite helpless) we can assume he was never made to cause anyone harm. Which would explain why he was building a spaceship, instead of just going into space himself (something that we know previous MePhones had the ability to do).
I hope this clears things up!
