26: My biggest pet peeves

i’m such an irritable person lolllll like everything annoys me my friend was just making fun of me bc i said i think it’s annoying when ppl are scared of horror movies (((IM SORRY!!!! IT’S A VISCERAL RESPONSE I KNOW THATS LITERALLY WHAT THEYRE MADE FOR!!!!!!)))

uhmmmm like my biggest hot buttons basically boil down to taking control of my life and general sphere away from me hahaha which is unsurprising bc like controlling childhood but like, the most angry i’ve ever gotten was when ppl a. moved/tampered with my things without asking me or b. made a commitment for me without checking with me.  i’m actually pretty easygoing abt both of these things as long as you speak words to me beforehand lol.

28: A description of the person I dislike the most

i really try not to hang onto like hating people???  like i get super mad, deal with the situation usually through extreme avoidance, and once it’s over it’s DONE.  omg but here’s an excellent chance to tell you abt my annoying coworker from two jobs ago LOL!

so this job was v simple right you take some files and you put them on a cart and them you move the files to a secondary location and you put them back.  surprisingly physically demanding???  but mental demand was like -4 like i think i may have lost brain cells.

so there were 4 ppl in my group right.  two of them were fine and of course the last one was a dick?????????  for NO reason.  like he’d randomly turn to me and be like “DON’T FUCK IT UP I WON’T FIX IT FOR YOU” like dude i think.  i’ve got this.  thanks.

so of course i had to be partnered with him.

and he would just like????  randomly leave for long stretches of time.  which, like, i don’t care it was a shit job lol like take all the unsanctiouned breaks pls.  but he left for a LONG time like without telling me so i’d just start doing the whole job by myself bc---again----not that hard lol.

and when he came back, he AGGRESSIVELY REARRANGED all the files i’d already done lolllllll.  like moved them way closer together basically even tho we’d been told not to do that.  and i was like o-kay.

so then.

the senior member of our group, who’d been working there a grand total of two months (the job had crazy turnover bc it was actual hell) comes over to check on us.

and this fucker is like hey.  how is this.  are these files good.

and Senior Member goes oh man no those are packed way too tight lol i don’t even need to check wtf.

i like nearly LOST my SHIT lol like FIRST of all?????

truly.  amazing.

best part of quitting that job was never seeing that fucker again---true to my point above i honestly don’t even remember most of the annoying shit he did i’ve expunged it from my conscious mind to make way for the promise of diner fries.

T: Do you believe in writer’s block? 

I mean yeah lol, like you can be mentally exhausted, your well of creative energy can run dry, or you can just be stuck on certain projects.  There’s some merit to forcing yourself to write anyway, but it’s also worth examining other factors that could be keeping you down.

R: What’s your writing set-up like? 

I like to type, and I like to have a desk and a relatively comfy chair in which to do it.  Not that I WON’T write any other way, but I can and will accidentally stay in a very uncomfortable position for many hours and then Regret Everything.

A: Does writing energize or exhaust you? 

Depends!  If I’m like in the zone(TM) I usually feel very energized and want to finish long things before I can even think about sleeping lol, and often emotional processing leaves me feeling really hyped up like I’ve just let a load off my mind.  But if it’s something I really have to work at for whatever reason, or something I don’t totally want to be doing, then sometimes it will tire me out.

S: How long does it take you to finish your first draft? 

Bold of you to assume there’s ever a second draft LOL.  Honestly I used to be such a crazy person about editing like chapters and such but now I pretty much just write and hit send hahaha like you know the study with the pots where some students made a lot of pots and some students had to make one perfect pot, and quantity won out in the end?

H: What’s your favorite under-appreciated novel? 

Idk if it’s underappreciated exactly, but I think some of its genre competitors overshadow it?  I really like Brave New World--I think it has some great prose, philosophical debate, and social commentary that sometimes gets overshadowed by eg 1984.

E: What other writers are you friends with? 

I recently told my mom that I wanted to write a book about my brother and she said I should, which surprised me but was also kinda nice. I don’t think I’m ready for it, though. But one day. But I might be ready to write something related to it. A fic where the MC has a disabled child. I’ve been thinking about that a lot. I want to write it, but am scared to. It would be a very personal thing, and I don’t know if the timing is right. Tomorrow is my brother’s birthday, Valentine’s Day is the day he died. I’m full of emotions that people don’t understand. So maybe I should fic it away. 

H: What’s your favorite under-appreciated novel?

Hm. I don’t really know. I recently read All The Little Moments by G. Benson and really liked it and since it’s lesfic it could always use more attention. So far all of her books I’ve read I’ve really liked.

V: How would you feel if your story turned into a movie?

If they keep me on as a creative director or something, I’d totally love it. As it is, if it were to get turned into a movie in the next 3 years, I’d have no rights over it and would get nothing for it, so let’s hope they don’t :P

X: What inspires you as a writer?

i need you to know that any time i see this update in passing on any platform i make an audible noise of frustration, click it open and closed and open and closed again and remind myself i CAN survive until story time i can i caN I HAVE. SELF RESTRAINT. I SWEAR I-

6. What role do you take on when you have to do a group project? (for example: leader, delegator, slacker, etc.)

I haven’t had to do a group project in a LONG time thank GOD.  It kinda depends on the subject--I don’t mind leading if it’s like music and there’s no one more qualified or interested, because it’s very frustrating to me to have eg a music rehearsal led poorly and I am technically capable of that, but otherwise I’d rather just have a job to do and be able to do it by myself hahaha.  Probably why I like playing Tracer in Overwatch she just does her own thing but is also helping.

15. What is always in your wallet that doesn’t need to be?

I don’t have a wallet, nor do I carry anything with me that isn’t absolutely necessary.  I guess sometimes I hang onto like old metro cards and laundry cards and stuff.

22. What do you NOT want on your tombstone?

LOL I guess it doesn’t matter I’ll be dead so?  My family is very weird abt death they don’t like a lot of ceremony so idk how to respond to this really.
