see , when thaliendir take mantle of sheogorath , there was no duchy left - thaliendir usurp thadon , while syl die as traitor . but time tick away as people grow more anxious ... so thaliendir put together mentris , new duchy of dementia , and amnis , new duchy of mania . these two straw dolls take respective seats , and thaliendir entrust stewards to listen to every need . no one ever actually witness either one of these two move , but would find to be very uncoordinate - straw do not have muscles , after all .
these two do not usually attend public events , due to peculiarities of mind : mentris prefer to sleep or meditate near-endlessly , while amnis is always busy on some strange art project . this is what stewards say , anyway - naturally , some people do not trust that these duchy actually have consciousness , and that stewards simply act on personal desires . hard to know who is right , though ...
