***TRIGGER WARNING: DOMESTIC ABUSE***
Giving Jennifer a quick look over will not help you determine what her power is, in fact you probably wouldn’t know her power until she spoke and even then it would depend on what she was talking about. Jennifer tends to not take things seriously and she loves to make people smile.  No matter where you catch the girl, you will never see her without a smile on her face and a joke on her tongue; that is just the type of person she is and always has been. When Jennifer was in second grade she discovered her power when she suddenly fully understood Algebra. A meeting was arranged between the school representatives and her parents, one would think that any parent would be thrilled that their child was a prodigy and her mother was, it was her father who was not at all thrilled. He viewed her intelligence as an inconvenience on him, since now the young girl would have to attend a boarding school. Because they were not in a position to pay for the school a scholarship was given to Jennifer.  The young girl quickly excelled in all of her classes and even on the numerous teams and clubs she joined the math team, the debate club, the swim team and the chess club.
However, her childhood was not all rainbow and sunshine, even though she tried to pretend that it was. I was always difficult when she’d go home for vacation; her outsmarting her parents never did her any favors, especially with her father. He hated how a little girl could know so much more than him and that often led him to feel inferior which would lead to him taking out his frustration on her mother and striking her. Too many times he did it in front of Jennifer and so when she was old enough to not have to go home, she wouldn’t. To make matters worse for the young girl, her teachers began to look at her differently. No longer did they just view her as a smart child, but as something else. Jennifer could pick up an entire chapter in calculus in no less than ten minutes as long as she could read it or listen to her teacher explain it once and she would be able to explain to the class in a way that the teacher couldn’t. The school began to get suspicious and it was then that they suggested she get an IQ test. Jennifer score was something that had never been seen before. Jennifer was just seventeen years old and her life was going to be changed forever.
Just a couple of days after the results of her IQ test two government agents showed up at her school. They didn’t say much, all they did say was that where she was going, Lake Grimstone, was for people as special as she was. Jennifer had seen enough movies about the government to know that there was no point in fighting them, so she didn’t. When she first arrived she was excited, she couldn’t wait to explore and meet others like her, but soon she realized that this was now he home and that she would never be seeing her parents again which huts her. Jennifer just hopes that now that she’s no there, that her father can stop hurting her mother.
POSITIVE: lighthearted, selfless, independent, caring. NEGATIVE: workaholic, emotional, guilt-ridden, impatient.
GABRIEL ROWLAND
Jennifer and Gabriel met the very first day she arrived and they instantly bonded over their love for video games and superheroes. They have gotten extremely close over the years and have formed a brother-sister sort of bond that neither of them had growing up, both being the only children in their families. Their relationship is more than just superheroes and goofing off, Jennifer has found that she can go to Gabriel with anything and even if he doesn’t understand or can’t empathize, he’s still listens and comforts her the best that he can.
WREN RODGERS
Wren and Jennifer’s relationship is a bit different than her relationship with Gabriel. Although they have become extremely close over superheroes and video games, they haven’t formed a brother-sister bond and instead they formed a best friend bond. Jennifer can go to Wren about anything and by anything, I mean everything. Wren is the only person she has ever told about the abuse her mother went through and the guilt eating her away from the inside. Although she’s close with Gabriel, she doesn’t think that she’d be able to tell him, not yet anyways.
HAROLD GARFIELD
When Jennifer found out that there was another person in Lake Grimstone who had the same power as her she immediately found them. Maybe he knew more about the powers than she did and they could help each other? Their first interaction ended in a lot of arguing for no real reason. They got off on a rocky start, maybe it was because of how much optimism Jennifer had for the conversation. Since that argument the two have been paired together for training, although something always happens that sparks another argument. They wouldn’t call each other friends but they also wouldn’t call each other enemies.
KHIANNA MALIK
Since Jennifer was young she’s wanted to be a doctor and use her brilliant mind in the world of medicine. She even got herself a job at the hospital when she came to Lake Grimstone. Khianna was assigned to be Jennifer’s mentor and help her with work as well as outside of the hospital. Jennifer sees Khianna as being a sort of an older sister figure that she never had. The two occasionally grab lunch together during their free time and Khianna is always there for Jennifer when she needs advice or just a girl to talk to. When TRP took over Lake Grimstone, this connection intensified--Khianna needed help, and Jennifer needed to help the town she loved. She started shadowing Khianna and assisting in caring for people on both sides who stumble into the hospital, doing the kind of good Jennifer always dreamed of doing.
