Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo..........Nintendo Switch. Okay first off, I honestly do like the look of this thing. Just one question. WHY IS IT COMING OUT SO SOON!?

No joke, does Nintendo not realize it’s influence on the gaming community?

Look I don’t care if you like Nintendo or not, but one thing the history of gaming shows us is that Nintendo innovates. 

Nintendo is the one that comes out with new game consoles first. In fact...

NINTENDO STARTS GAMING GENERATIONS!

Like before the dark times of the Sony/Microsoft wars, there was just two major home console gaming companies. Nintendo and Sega. When Nintendo bought out Sega and was making major cash, soon the introduced the Nintendo 64 (one of the best consoles in my opinion *cough cough*) Sony looked at this titan of a company and said “ooooooh MONEY!” and introduced the PLAYSTATION to the world, this challenged the previous form of gaming (Catriges) with CDs (Compact Discs). 

A few years went by and Nintendo introduced the ever “popular” (honestly I never owned or played one) GAME CUBE! Sony was all like “Oh shit new shiny thing. We need to make new shiny thing.” Thus the PLAYSTATION 2!

Microsoft then looked upon the holy grail of cash and said. “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH MONEY! WE ARE THE BEST AT MONEY!” And thus the XBOX was introduced. And the world was complacent.

UNTIL! NINTENDO HAD TO MAKE SOMETHING NEW AND SHINY AGAIN! Introducing the WII, It’s like a home console but now you can stand up (like anyone wanted that). So Sony looked at this and said, “WE NEED NEW SHINY THING!” And thus the PLAYSTATION 3!

And guess what happened next kids... YEP MICROSOFT SAID, “MONEY!!!!!”

And then they created the XBOX360!

This started the Console War Era of gaming and lasted 7 years. 7 FUCKING YEARS DUDE! That was with out a doubt the longest generation of consoles.

Then Nintendo made a new shiny thing...that was more like the old shiny thing but with a new attachment. the WIIU! 

And we all know the song and dance by now. PLAYSTATION 4! XBOX.... o-one? Okay odd naming their Microsoft. Not that Wii or WiiU is any better.

Now we come back to my original point. If this Nintendo Switch starts a new generation, this will be a bad thing. Because and Sony and Microsoft will jump on it like a tick in a hillbilly’s ass crack.

But of course you’re asking “Menameh, isn’t that a good thing? more games for us.” 

Well here’s the thing little billy. Do you remember when the PS4 and XBOX ONE came out...2013!!!

3 FUCKING YEARS!

That is not enough time to create any decent games. Like AT ALL! 

We don’t need new consoles, we need new games. On the consoles we have right now.

Now don’t get me wrong.

I love Nintendo, I just don’t think they realize their influence on the gaming market. They are the only ones willing enough to innovate and make new things. Sony and Microsoft are just too corporate to take those kinds of risks.

That’s actually like Nintendo, they’re not afraid to test the waters by throwing shit into it. It’s fun and creates good ideas and great games.

But we need time to let those ideas come to life. If the next generation comes out before creators are even ready to make something for the previous generation, then we’ll only be stuck with “SAFE” games and systems.
