intentionally or not, the iron bull watches everyone and everything in skyhold with a spy’s eyes. this one never came with the refugees from haven, or the hinterlands. they’re not a soldier. they’re not hurting, not obviously. they’re not a mage, either, and yet -
weeks. it took weeks to realise they change their face every time they show up. he thought they were a spy, too, but the assassination attempts never came. he hasn’t told the inquisitor. there’s nothing to tell. not yet. besides, the inquisitor’s a shitty liar. it’s the ben-hassrath all over again.
“sunrise is always real nice here.” the view off the main hall balcony - over the entirety of the stronghold - stretches way into the mountains. “but you know that.”
