⭐💜 -- technically i’ve already answered yellow, but i’ve got enough answers in me to go on forever, so let’s do it again!
1. if you could have any view from your bedroom window what would you choose?
my family’s old home in cork, where my maternal grandfather’s family lived for generations was situated on a cliffside overlooking the atlantic -- it also fell/slid off said cliff around this time last year so bye family heritage -- and even though i only spent two summers down in it, the view from the bedroom i was always in was just incredible. i mean, it was mildly terrifying cos my boundary wall was right on the edge of the cliff with this sheer drop into the fucking atlantic ocean, but the colours of the water and the waves crashing against the cliffside in a storm were wonderful to watch from my reading nook (see also: i put pillows on the windowsill and sat there with the cat).
2. what’s your favourite thing to do on a sunny day?
is “be inside” an appropriate answer? cos honestly, one of my favourite things to do is walk around the gallery by myself and just breathe. and they’ve recently reopened the historic wing of the gallery and put back in the el greco, so i’m going to go soon (maybe i’ll go on wednesday if i have some free time) regardless of the weather, cos i said in my previous answer, ireland has jacked up weather issues and one minute we’re having the downpour of the century and the next, the sun’s splitting the stones.
3. what do you consider lucky?
a misprinted deck with 5 aces.
4. what made you smile today?
i just found poptarts -- cinnamon brown sugar -- and let me tell you, i might be a full grown adult but fuck me i’m happy as fuck right now.
biblical allegories, waking up from a nap aware of what decade it is and where i am, the queen and the huntsman archetypes, videos of babies with baby animals, the way @acuisle approaches and relates to art/the art she wants to create, when the lights in the club change from green to blue and back again and everything feels like it’s underwater, the opening oboe glissando from rhapsody in blue, the drop at 3 minutes in of dance yrself clean, eyes in repin’s art, circe and medea, caravaggio style faces in real life.
1. what’s your astrological sign?
other than raja gemini, i think i’m the most gemini person to ever gemini in all of history.
2. what’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
this one is from my grandad and it reads so true -- you don’t always have to do the “right” thing, if it’s not the right time to do it. what the “right thing” is in situations isn’t always the easiest thing to do, it isn’t always bloodless, and depending on which side of the argument you’re standing on, it isn’t always the right time to do it. cos that’s a rather important thing people don’t always take into account; sometimes it is not your place to deem what is right, so take a step back, evaluate the situation. and never ever ever speak over someone else with more knowledge or a different aspect on the situation. yes, calling out something your friend did that was racist or homophobic is always the right thing to do, but embarrassing them in the middle of a shopping centre with a cart full of groceries in front of everyone isn’t always the best time for it. do it at home, later, when you can explain to them exactly what they did was shitty, calmly, and not in a place where all they’re going to take from the situation is the embarrassment of being called out and learn nothing from it.
3. when’s the last time you followed your instincts?
oh man, i have no idea. regarding what? OH! probably saturday night, when i was texting glen as my behind-neighbour started using an industrial sander at 11:11pm on his back wall and i knew i wasn’t going to get any sleep any time soon but also that from glen’s texts there was something wrong with her that she wasn’t talking about fully, so i went to her house and discovered she had food poisoning at midnight and i held her hair while she threw up and slept on a mattress on her bedroom floor.
4. what’s your favourite food?
i love homecooked comfort food, like glen’s mom’s lasagne, my dad’s corn beef hash, my stepmomma’s shepherd’s pie. i also love hot wings, the hotter the better, and if there’s a cheeseburger on a restaurant menu, i’ve gotta try it.
5. what’s your secret dream?
uhhhh. . . do i have any secrets at this point? no. my dream/goal/life aspiration is to marry lamb and live together and have a handful of kids we raise to be good, individual human beings. i wanna write, in whatever capacity i can whether it’s work or a hobby, and i want to see lima and copenhagen with her. that’s it. those are all my dreams. everything else good that happens in my life is just a bonus.
