In 2000, near California’s Farallon Islands, an orca took down a large prey animal that scientists believed may have been a great white shark. Soon after, nearby white sharks left the area. One tagged shark suddenly dived about 484 meters, then later headed west toward Hawaii. Even great whites know when to log out.
