âťť you didn't have to kill them ! âťž
  “ why not … ? ”
his tone of voice, risen and stark in comparison, seemed to hint toward his sudden confusion toward the statement given off by his friend beside him. giving a blink of heavily lined dark eyes, the smudge of that coal like texture rubbing down his cheeks - he could only spare the other a look followed by another blink of confusion that seemed to catch him off guard.
“ those were two very bad people … ”
he took a moment to gesture as the now dead heaps that were once live and kicking human beings ( as he experienced in quite a literal sense,) his head tilting to the side as he looked over them further. perhaps he was taking a double check to see if they were truly dead or not - maybe because he had a change of mind of what he wanted to say to the one expressing his worry over his previous actions.
“ how do i know ? well, they had to have done something bad to end up here ! ”
he even seemed to doubt himself as he pointed a blackened with coal finger toward the two as he nudged the boy with his elbow - but instead of lingering he only cracked a grin upon thin lips as a small sneer of laughter seeped through. shifting slightly to flick open the box of matches, he pulled one from his treasure trove, struck it against the side as the flame ignited, leaving an eerily orange gleam reaching the parting of his lips to reflect against shining white teeth.
    “ someone’s gotta judge these lunatics, hah - ”
with that, he tossed the match toward the heap of dead mass all laced with the sweet scent of the trickling gasoline. instantly clothing caught on fire, and he could only inch a step back as he watched with the flames reflecting in empty black eyes.
