LeonxDylas fluff proposal

Leon smirked at his boyfriend.

“So is there a reason you brought me all the way out here? Not that I don’t love it or anything… it’s just not your usual style.”

It was around ten at night and the two were in the forest on the shore of a small lake, gazing up at the stars. Dylas had brought them food and they’d had a small picnic, and now Dylas kept starting to speak before cutting himself off, and his cheeks were pink.

Dylas licked his lips.

“Right,” he said, “Leon, I have–I have something to give to you. Well, no–to ask you.”

“Should I stand up for this?” Leon asked lightly. Dylas blinked and then scowled.

“You were never going to make this easy, were you?”

Leon laughed and kissed his cheek before standing. Dylas followed his lead.

“Just say what you wanted to say,” Leon instructed, a small, genuine smile playing on his lips. Dylas took a deep breath.

“Leon… I know we haven’t been together for a very long time, but… I love you. You’re someone I can always turn to and someone I can rely on, and… don’t laugh at me!”

Leon shook his head and waved a hand.

“I’m sorry, really,” he said, cupping Dylas’s cheek, “You’re just so cute. I love you, too.”

Dylas relaxed a little and sighed. 

“Well… neither of us are great at this kind of thing, so I’ll just do it.”

Dylas got down on one knee, and pulled a small black case from his pocket. Leon’s breath caught despite himself. When the lid was lifted, the inside was revealed; there was a small black and silver band inside.

“Leon,” Dylas said, voice tight with anxiety, “Will you marry me?”

Leon grinned.

“Of course,” he breathed, “Where would I be without my other half?”

Dylas grinned back and slid the ring onto Leon’s finger. He stood and Leon grabbed the front of his shirt, pulling him into a fierce kiss. Moments later they both pulled away, breathless and pleased. They rested their foreheads together as they caught their breath.

Dylas chuckled and Leon glanced at him questioningly.

“We’re not so bad at this kind of stuff, after all.”

Leon hummed in agreement.

“Let’s get home,” he murmured, lowering his head to kiss Dylas’s neck. Dylas’s arms tightened around him and he smiled.

“Yeah. let’s go home.”

They reluctantly pulled apart, gathered the picnic basket and blanket, and walked hand in hand out of the forest. Leon glanced down at the ring on his finger, glinting in the light of the moon, and smiled.

“No, you have to grab their wings, so they don’t fly away.”

“Like this? Does that hurt ‘em?”

“No, of course not! I wouldn’t do that. What kind of animal do you think I am? Right now! There’s Dylas! Try it!”

Lest covered his mouth with one hand to stifle the giggle that was bubbling up in his chest. He and Doug were crouched behind a few bushes, and Doug clutched a bird Lest had caught for him.

Raising the arm holding the bird and sticking his tongue out, Doug closed one eye and geared up his arm as Lest tried to cover up his laughs. The noise must have caught Dylas’s attention because he turned then. 

Doug threw his arm forward and launched the bird. With a squawk and a flurry of feathers and talons, the bird slammed into Dylas’s face.

The part-horse gave a shout as he tried to push the thing off of him. 

Lest tugged on Doug’s sleeve.

“Come on, let’s go! Let’s go!”

Together they took off, leaving the angry bird chattering and Dylas screaming after them. They tore across the town, turning down paths until, finally, they came upon the lake.

As one, the two collapsed next to each other on the grass. Their eyes met, and both burst into laughter. A long moment past before either could catch their breath, and when they did, Lest met Doug’s eyes with a grin.

Doug shook his head, lifting himself up on an elbow.

“Who knew you’d be such a troublemaker,” he teased. Lest faked an offended look, pressing a hand to his chest.

“Who, me?” he said, lifting himself up as well to look Doug square in the eye, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m an angel of Selphia.”

Doug chuckled and shoved Lest’s shoulder causing the prince to fall onto his back. Before Lest could protest, Doug leaned over him and covered his lips with his own.

Lest immediately wrapped his arms around Doug’s neck, pulling him closer. Doug tilted his head and and deepened the kiss, catching Lest’s bottom tongue between his teeth. Lest grinned and nipped at Doug’s top lip as payback.

Doug pulled away then, his face slightly flushed. Lest smiled genuinely up at him.

“I like it when you’re sneaky like that,” Doug said, “It’s… cute.”

Lest raised an eyebrow.

“Yeah?” he said, tugging on the hair at the nape of Doug’s neck playfully. Doug grinned and leaned down, pecking him on the lips.

“Yeah.”

The two moved forward again. Their lips brushed, but then an angry shout shot through the air.

“Doug–Lest–you’re dead!”

Both boys immediately scrambled up. They grinned at each other. Doug held out his hand.

“Ready?”

Lest’s eyes gleamed as he took Doug’s hand.

“Ready.”
