Note To My Daughters
I wrote these reminders & wishes for my 3 girls, but I think they're good reminders for us all...Happy New Year! X
To my 3 beauties, a little note as we head into 2016…
Be gracious and sincere in all things Be patient. Your life has its own timing. Think before you speak, unless it’s to laugh. Laugh loud and laugh often. even when it’s inappropriate. (don’t worry, you’re a James girl. people expect this of us) Remember, everyone is struggling with something, be it big or small. So you’re not alone. Be honest in all things. Follow your dreams, listen to your gut. Listen to music whenever you can. let it transport you…let it inspire you. Dance. Every damn day. Go to museums..sit quietly and absorb everything. Travel. Any chance you get. Create, make things with your hands. Always stand up for yourself & hold your head high. Take chances. Always. But never gamble with something that isn’t yours to lose. Don’t let fear make poor decisions for you. There’s a time to speak out and a time to listen. Know the difference. Own your mistakes, this will shape your character. Make mistakes, lots of them. let them teach you. Jealousy is a particularly heinous shade of green & looks good on no one. Be brave enough to apologize. And mean it. Love & appreciate your family. And forgive them often. Remember, they’re only human (except moms. they’re superhuman). Don’t rely on others for your own happiness. It isn’t fair to put that kind pressure on anyone. Create your own & grab the hand of someone worthy to share it with. Fall in love. Deeply. Madly. Completely. There’s no greater feeling on this earth. Even when it’s hurts. Lastly… Take nothing and no one for granted.
