1.) I’m reading Daring Great by Brené Brown right now. My sociology of emotions professor assigned the first few chapters for class, but I’m planning on finishing it because it’s really good! 

2.) I’m done with finals so I’ve just been baking cookies, and playing games for the past few days lol! And I’m excited for the tech for social change program I’m going to be apart of next quarter! :)

3.) Lol I’ve imagined my dream house a lot! In high school our AP art teacher invited our class to his house for spaghetti and it was so cool! There was art and weird stuff everywhere and his garage was an art studio!! I feel like mine would look like that except less with less “old white guy vibes” lmao! Also I’d have a bunch of windchimes because I think they’re neat lol!

If I could tell myself one thing it’s that you don’t have to punish yourself just because things are going wrong or badly in your life.

I’m excited for TharnType season 2, Lucifer season 6, and Birds of Prey.

Physical:

1. I love my septum ring and my tattoos, always, any time I see them. I got them when I was about 30 and people thought I was making a mistake but it’s an instant shot of serotonin.

2. I like that I’m short, even if I play into the “all short people are angry” thing. It makes pants hard to size but otherwise I love it.

3. Other than the nail painting part, I do not need pedicures. My feet do not develop calluses or need to be exfoliated ever because I always run around barefoot when I’m not at work. So I almost never get them.

Non-Physical

1. I never stop moving forward. I might be slow, or tired, or depressed, but I’m always putting one foot in front of the other. I’m like those Weebles, you can punch me but I pop back up.

2. I’m not always nice but I practice kindness as often as I can. I always want to see where people are coming from, even if their actions or reasoning is bad, because I know nothing happens in a vacuum.

3. I can sing really well (not like famous level or anything) but I’m fairly shy about it. But when a song comes on the radio I love I’m just Patrick Stump up in here.

I’ve often been discouraged from pursuing music but have made an incredible amount of lifelong friends (and a decent amount of money!) from performing my instrument.

I have three brothers and four sisters (plus two more that have been estranged since early childhood), but the only one that shares the same mom AND dad with me is my youngest sister. The age range of my siblings is 19-46 years old. 😱

One of my favorite shows when I was little was Blue’s Clues (when Steve was the host). I lowkey had a crush on Steve, and I even had a Handy Dandy Notebook™. Randomness: At some point, Steve goes off to college and his brother Joe takes over the hosting mantle; coincidentally enough, my boyfriend’s name is Steve and his brother’s name is Joe. 😂

I am shy AND introverted. 😶

My biggest hobbies are photography, reading, and knitting/crocheting/sewing.📷

When I was about 6 years old, I was swimming in a competitive meet, and I was in the lead. I got halfway down the lane and just stopped. My family, coaches, and teammates were yelling at me from the sidelines to continue, but I started crying instead. I didn’t even place that day. I don’t remember why I stopped, but it makes me laugh to think about it now. Maybe it was a self-induced pressure to win that caught up to me at the worst possible moment. 🤣

My BA degree is in Anthropology, but I now work as a substitute teacher and childcare provider. I was in a graduate study program for gender equity in education, but greatly disliked how the program was run and the program advisor, so I never finished. It was for the best because I was also incredibly burnt out on school and doing grad school for all the wrong reasons. 🎓

I love being outside, but have a really hard time with bugs and other creepy crawlies. I respect them from a safe distance. 😅

I find laundry folding to be therapeutic. 😌

I prefer sour candies over just sweet candy, and I like candy more than chocolate. 🙊

My favorite animals are sea turtles, but I love all turtles.🐢 I always cry when I see videos of baby sea turtles. 😭
