Kevin Durand stands at a whopping 6’6” and is fit. He has blue eyes but I don’t know many tall actors with brown eyes.>.> Casting Harry is hard because he’s described as being so freakishly tall omg

I love this response so much. The first time I saw a critique that said that the book was ‘sexist’, the only thing I could think in response was “But that’s Harry.” Harry’s always had a certain viewpoint of women since BOOK ONE and its just. HELLO!
The way I see it, at least Dresden's personality has stayed mostly the same throughout 14 books - which I think would be very difficult. I've read books where a character can't keep it's traits from beginning to end in just ONE book. But 14? That's pretty impressive.

I agree, but I would add that women seem to be in ~danger~ a lot more than men, which hints at some underlying sexist ideas in Butcher’s head too. BUT given Dresden’s flaws, he’s easier to hurt with a lady in trouble so his villains would use that.
Also, I like to think that maybe it's because a lot of the female characters in Dresden's life are very strong characters. They're tough, empowered, intelligent, and cunning. They go into battle with Dresden because they want to, because they're just as able to put their fear aside for the greater good as any of the men are. Then, like you said, any of Dresden's enemies who know him well enough will take the women first because that's his weakness.
I'm sure there are ways to look at it and examine it where someone will always find a way to say Jim is sexist. But I like to give him the benefit of the doubt. But looking at the majority of the female characters in the book I think that if anything Jim gives women a lot more power in the books than he does men.
