Mega Agent Pro - 3 Reasons Social Media Is VITAL for Success as a Real Estate Agent
3 Reasons Social Media Is VITAL for Success as a Real Estate Agent
If youâre a successful realtor and you donât use social media marketing, you may be wondering what all the fuss is about.
Look, as you know, the real estate game is changing. The factors real estate agents have depended on in the past for their success cannot always be depended on for their success in the future.
To stay successful, you need to establish yourself as an expert in your local market ⌠especially through social media marketing.
Here are 3 reasons why social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube are vital to staying successful as an agent:
 1. Your Competitors Are Using Social Media to Build Their Authority
91% of Realtors use social media to some extent. With so many of your competitors taking advantage of these platforms, itâs dangerous to assume you donât have to.
The good news is that not all these agents are using social media as effectively as they could. By maintaining a compelling social media presence, you can engage the ideal clients in your local market and provide value. Each post is an opportunity to establish your authority and expertise. The more value you provide, the more trust youâll build with your audience.
And in return, youâll be the first real estate agent your audience thinks of when they need to list or buy a home, or the one they mention to their own networks.
  2. The Vast Majority of Americans Are on Social Media
As of 2017, 81% of the United States population was on social media.
Traditional media is becoming less popular. Itâs more common to open Facebook in the morning than it is to flip through the newspaper. So, if youâre not using social media, youâre missing a lot of opportunities to engage with your client base and prospective clients.
By using social media advertising, you can reach more people. And you can target highly specific demographic and psychographic groups.
  3. Itâs an Easy Way to Follow Up with Past and Current Clients
Are you tired of seeing other agents take clients from your sphere of influence, costing you business and money?
With social media, you can network with your past and current clients to help build quality, long-lasting relationships. Additionally, you stay top of mind with your client database, so youâre the first person they call when theyâre ready to act.
Now that you understand the importance of using social media as a real estate agent, are you ready to start using social media marketing to your advantage â and using it more effectively than your competition?

Mega Agent Pro - 7 Stress Management Tips for the Real Estate Professional
7 Stress Management Tips for the Real Estate Professional
 Stress is a beast.
It creeps in at the worst time and wreaks havoc on your day.
Managing stress in any profession is tough, but as a real estate professional, stress can be a huge destabilizer.
Think about it, you are working with clients who are taking a huge step in their lives â buying or selling a home. These interactions already come with tons of pressure, so if you are continually stressed, it can make or break a deal. People feed off each otherâs energy, and thatâs why itâs important to have a plan in place to ward off the beast.
There are hundreds of tips for stress management, but weâve narrowed it down to 7 key tips to keep yourself as relaxed as possible.
 Tips for Real estate agents
Stress Tip #1 â Set SMART goals.
Setting goals is a fantastic way to have something to aim for, and in turn, celebrate. Be sure that you are setting SMART goals â Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. Below is an example of a smart goal.
You can set as many goals as youâd like, but make certain that they are SMART.
You should have a go-to person to help hold you accountable for the goals you set. Also, donât forget to celebrate each time you accomplish a goal. It can be as simple as a nice dinner or a weekend getaway. Just be sure to make time to celebrate.
Stress Tip #2 â Keep a list of âthings to doâ and stay focused on short-term accomplishments.
Now that you have your SMART goals, keep track of your daily/weekly tasks so that you can prioritize your to -do list. Some people like to track their to-do lists electronically and others prefer the good old pen and paper.
There are lots of great apps for the techie and an infinite number of daily planners to suit anyoneâs style.
Stress Tip #3 â Become more tolerant and donât be overly critical of yourself or others.
This boils down to not sweating the small stuff. If you spend time being overly critical of yourself or others, you wonât have time left to set SMART GOALS or check items off your to-do list.
Itâs ok to hold yourself to a certain standard, but you should also give yourself a break every now and then.
Being critical of those around you, is simply a waste of time. Focus on the things you can control, and you will be in a much happier place.
Stress Tip #4 â Mix leisure with work. Take breaks and get away when you can.
When you are busy, time flies. Itâs easy to get wrapped up in your day with meetings and phone calls. However, itâs crucial that you give yourself a break to decompress.
It can be hard to manage breaks, so we recommend working them into your calendar, if possible. Just be conscious to take a 15-minute break every few hours. Get a coffee, browse social media, read a magazine, stretch. Do whatever you can to help yourself recharge and take your mind off work. Easier said than done, but if you work it into your routine, it will become easier over time.
Stress Tip #5 â Make a point to spend quality time with your friends and family.
Spending time with the people you love is one of the best ways to de-stress. Book a lunch with your best friend. Go out for dinner and drinks. Plan a day trip with the kids. These are great ways to spend quality time with those you care about. You can use this time to detach yourself from work and be in the moment.
Stress Tip #6 â Do something nice for someone else.
A wonderful way to boost your mood is to do something nice for someone. It can be for a total stranger or someone you know. Next time you are getting a coffee at the drive-thru, pay for the person behind you. Be a little nicer on the highway and let a few cars in front of you. Come home with a card for your significant other thanking them for always supporting you. These examples are simple ways to do something nice and are sure to lift your spirits.
Stress Tip #7 â Get plenty of sleep.
This is obvious but often ignored. You need sleep to function. The magic number is between 7-9 hours of sleep per night, according to the Sleep Foundation. Sometimes getting yourself to fall asleep is half the battle. Here are a few ways to help relax before bed.
Shut off all electronic devices 30 minutes before bed
Read a book for 20-30 minutes before falling asleep
Make sure you have the proper pillow for your sleep type (i.e. side sleeper)
Listen to soothing, ambient sounds
Use lavender pillow spray or other aromatherapy scents for relaxation
