MedWeb's Philanthropic Efforts around the World
Dr. Peter Killcommons is an entrepreneurial medical professional with more than two decades of experience in the field of telemedicine. The CEO of MedWeb, Dr. Pete Kilcommons is in charge of the company’s radiology, telemedicine, and disaster response divisions. Since establishing the business in 1992, Dr. Peter Killcommons has led MedWeb to the development of numerous computer-based platforms that offer electronic acquisition, communication, and storage of medical data. MedWeb’s programs are suitable for medical specialties such as dentistry, dermatology, and general examination. In addition to its primary function, MedWeb has carried out many philanthropic missions throughout its lifespan: - Picture archiving and communication system (PACS) servers were donated to the Medishare tent hospital in Haiti and a treatment facility in Concepcion, Honduras. - During Hurricane Katrina in 2005, MedWeb donated use of its Mobile Medical Communications and Triage vehicle (MMCTV), which used satellites to provide reliable Internet service to relief workers. - In 2008, the company donated equipment to Antigua and has since returned two additional times to provide further assistance. - Currently, WebMed is working to bring telemedicine to rural areas in Kosovo, with the help of the Rotary Club.
