The town of Jerico was founded by Spanish pioneer, Santiago Santamaria in 1850 and is one of 17 Heritage Villages (Pueblos Patrimonio) in Colombia. The town is the birthplace of Laura of Saint Catherine of Siena, the only Colombian canonized Saint (Pope Francis in 2013). As a strong coffee-growing community with a rich coffee culture the many coffee farming families work through a Co-Op which we source, through Direct Trade.
