Hunter Biden seems to be the Biden Family Spokesperson
In politics, leadership doesn’t always come from holding elected office. Sometimes it comes from simply being the family member willing to answer difficult questions in public. Over the past several months, Hunter Biden has increasingly become the most visible and accessible public representative of the Biden family. While former President Joe Biden has largely remained out of the national…

"# The AI Revolution: Insights from Google’s Campus with Sundar Pichai In the vibrant corridors of Google’s California campus, where innovation seems to pulse through the air, BBC's economics editor and Newsnight presenter Faisal Islam recently sat down with CEO Sundar Pichai. The conversation? A deep dive into the heart of the AI boom and the audacious future it promises. Pichai, with his characteristic calm and insightful demeanor, is at the forefront of a technological revolution that holds the potential to redefine our lives. As Faisal navigated through this powerhouse of ingenuity, it became evident that we are not merely witnessing an evolution—this is a full-fledged revolution in how we engage with the world around us. The AI boom has taken the tech industry by storm, and its impact is reaching far beyond the confines of Silicon Valley. From enhancing productivity to revolutionizing industries and even transforming how we communicate, AI is not just a buzzword, it’s a necessity. Pichai articulated a vision where AI serves as an augmentation of human intelligence, rather than a replacement. It’s a tool that, if harnessed responsibly, could amplify our capabilities and bring about a wave of innovation. But let's get real. With great power comes great responsibility. Faisal didn't shy away from pressing Pichai on the ethical implications of such technology. The importance of transparency, security, and the potential biases ingrained in AI systems cannot be overstated. As we catapult towards an era dominated by artificial intelligence, these conversations are critical. How can we ensure that this surge of capabilities is beneficial for all—without exacerbating existing inequalities? Pichai’s responses highlighted a commitment to ethical AI, advocating for collaboration between tech leaders, governments, and society to forge a path that respects human values. It’s a bold statement in an era where technology often races ahead of regulatory measures. The dialogue emphasizes that the future of AI does not exist in a vacuum; it’s a collective journey that requires vigilance, dialogue, and action from all corners of society. As we move forward, it’s clear that conversations like the one between Faisal Islam and Sundar Pichai are vital. They serve as a reminder that while the tech landscape is changing at an unprecedented pace, we must anchor ourselves in ethical considerations and societal impacts. The AI boom is not just about what technology can do; it's about what kind of future we want to create together. So, as you contemplate the future of technology in your own life, ask yourself: how will you engage with this AI-driven world? The revolution is here, and it’s time for each of us to play an active role. Stay informed, voice your concerns, and be part of the change. Carter was president from 1977 to 1981, but he was perhaps more famous for the life he led after he left office. He was one of the biggest a
Back in 2000 at my last station in Memphis, my executive producer came zooming over to me in the weather office in a panic as one of our main news anchors was late returning to the station from an assignment and asked me to help fill in on recording a remote satellite interview call. I said yes as she rushed away to get ready and I asked who I was supposed to interview. She shouted back, "President Carter!"
Had about 15 minutes to get ready as the interview was part of a media tour for his new book "Christmas In Plains". Spent 5-10 minutes interviewing him about the book, I even took a chance with a minute or so left to ask him about his White House solar hot water heater that President Reagan removed as my dad was an architect who specialized in renewable energy fixtures incorporated into his building designs.
One of the highlights of my career in news to be able to speak to him for just a few minutes. Never would have thought part of my experiences in life would have been to interview a former President of the United States, even if it was over satellite remotely for a few minutes.
