Wrapped up in herself she may be, the very suggestion that there appeared an imbalance in the relationship aggravated Saber. It wasn’t hers, nor any of her business, but if he were in deeper than he could understand, or she weren’t taken as seriously as she should be, something were amiss and she remained soured from his barking. "It’s absurd, no matter which way you look at it, and yet, the way Lancer acts when you’re around, it doesn’t come as a surprise”.

But it’s hard. It’s very very hard to rid yourself of the very dreadful and existential reminder that you have died. Your life came to a violent end—which in some ways was to be expected, but that didn’t make it any easier. And it certainly didn’t help the fact that Django Foley himself had willingly chosen to complete the book that is his entire existence right then and there.

His mind has become restless—far too many thoughts racing through his head. Would he still have made these same choices if he were unable to come back to life? Could he have maybe survived the attack instead of sacrificing himself? Was this selfish of him? How would this affect Medb if he had not come back? How would the people back home learn of his passing?

Yet the one question that truly kept him up at night was a simple yet horrifying one; did he really feel okay with himself coming back to life?

Unable to rest for much longer, Django finds himself in the living room of the castle during the early hours of the morning. Before him on the coffee table is a planner that he and his beloved Medb had began to work on just days prior. Even with the exhausting thoughts of his death and resurrection looming over him at a constant, he still finds himself able to focus on their future wedding. It and Medb had practically been the only things keeping him relatively sane and happy since coming back to his life. And for that he was extremely thankful.

He tenderly flips through the pages of what they’ve worked on so far. His soft smile never ceasing to be. There was truly something so immensely powerful in knowing that the two of them will be able to call one another husband and wife in the future. It brought a warmth to him that was very much needed right at this moment.

Or maybe it was the coffee he had made for himself earlier. One of the two.

“ I’m so glad this is happening. ”

 she really sounds like a kid in a candy store, the awe in her voice as she looks about the first floor of the massive store. she’s never seen a furniture store have multiple floors. the utter variety it holds must be immense and Ritsuka quite excited to see. who gets excited for furniture shopping? not a whole lot of people, but she hasn’t done this since..........well, highschool.  but Medb and Django asked her to come along and what better way to spend the weekend than in a giant store that she’ll probably get lost in at least once. she’s heard there’s meatballs. a furniture store that gives out snacks?

             yeah, they’ll be there awhile.

   “ Look!” her voice echoes in excitement as she practically leaps away from the duo behind her, feet coming to a halt next to a collection of pillows. one she plucks up, larger than her body, as she turns to show it to the other. “ It has penguins dressed as gnomes on it. And that lamp over there is in the shape of an eye. ”

“ ----- is that really you, medb ? this must be yet another fateful encounter. ”

it seemed that many servants have also been pulled away from chaldea, slipped through pockets of space and time, and placed into this city by the hands of what appeared to be all-powerful beings. little has been disclosed about these supposed masters and little has been discovered, beyond what was already known. it was frustrating to be shielded from the knowledge of this world, where one step of progress leads two steps back in understanding. but, nevertheless, it is always a pleasure to see a pretty, familiar face.

his gaze wanders over the glass windows of the nearby boutique, as he approaches her, witnessing shelves upon shelves of gleaming charms, ribbons and bangles of precious stones that burst in color under the diffusion of the cool, afternoon light. the shop did not look out of place in this avenue as much as she did standing outside of it. however, he was quick to notice a pair of bags besides the queen and the mage found himself rushing to jump the obvious conclusion without possibly missing a beat. 

This was... Rather enjoyable actually. She never really thought of herself as an artist, but she wasn’t so modest that she wouldn’t admit she was decent as designing things. For the majority of her time that had been weapons, with the shift to clockwork over the past couple of years. 

Drawing pictures on the top of coffee? It was as entertaining as it was whimsical.

She was rather good at it too, not that she’d say that out loud. But surgical precision, patients and a keen eye made for an excellent rendition of a star flower. The pride she felt was not clear on her otherwise flat expression while she admired her work. She might have moved on to the next piece, but she could feel eyes on her, and a stronger scent nearby.

“Oh, am I in your way, there’s a spare...” But she drifted off, eyes unfocusing for a moment. The scent was strong at this distance, through no fault of the woman’s own; this was often a curse of heightened senses.

“Have we...”

Familiar, familiar... She knew this, and not just in a one off passing. Yet she considered herself good with faces and she was confident she’d never seen this woman before. The distant look continued for what likely felt like several long seconds as she tried to match the scent. It reminded her of... Victor? She smelled like Victor? No, that wasn’t right, it was stronger here; he smelled like her.

Makoto’s nose twitches when she notices the smell. It’s the same scent she’s smelled on Victor every so often, just a faint, feminine aroma that definitely doesn’t come from him. He’s completely stonewalled her attempts to pry the information out of him, so she’d mostly given up. 

At least, she’d given up until that woman walked past, smelling the exact same way. Makoto couldn’t help but grin.
