Wealth:
There are tiers of wealth. You can use Influence to lose or gain a tier of wealth every in-game week.*
Impoverished- The DCs on interactions with characters of Polite class and above are slightly higher, and the DCs on interactions with characters of Mercantile class and below are slightly lower. You have a reserve of five coins.
Mercantile- You gain two Blunder Points instead of one for every failed check. (Does not multiply with the Gritty Skill tree.) The DCs on interactions with Polite characters are slightly higher. You have a reserve of twenty coins.
Polite- The DCs on interactions with every class are slightly lowered. You have a reserve of thirty coins.
Aristocratic- You gain one Powerful Connection every time you take a long rest. The DC’s on interactions with Impoverished characters are slightly higher. You have a reserve of fifty coins.
Royal- You have Influence over every terrain. You have a reserve of a hundred coins. (Note: This is the only class you cannot ascend to using Influence. Your character must start with this class if you wish to use it, and cannot return once they have lost that tier.)
Footnote: Prices are a little fast and loose, but think of it this way; a nice meal for one person costs one coin, lodging for the night costs two, and a horse costs ten. If you want to get a ration pack for a couple of weeks, that’ll be one coin. A house costs fifty.
As for earning money, that looks different for every class, but in general, each class will gain their reserve back each week. Aka, an Impoverished character will earn five coins a week and a Royal character will earn a hundred coins a week.
If they used Influence to gain or lose a tier that week, then they earn the money they would have earned in their previous class, and in all following weeks earn the money of their new class.
